Oh yeah, forgot to ask, is the rough-out water resistant/proof? I've got so many beige suede boots and am always a bit worried about getting them wet. Need me some truly weatherproof footwear this time round.

Thinking this could be my next build.

I would love these too. Anyone got an idea how much they'd be?

I'd like a pair of these too, but in another leather.  Can made to order thru Viberg be done without a group order?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the Bobcat and Scout models? Also, will the rough-out leather cut it in winter without silly amounts of care?

Like Madmonday, I love beige suede/nubuck. Finding it hard to imagine a smooth leather boot. The harness leather looked cool but apparently they don't do it anymore (anyone know why?).
As for the difference between the Scout and the Bobcat...can anyone help?

suede and rough-out isnt nearly as fragile as some people think. i use a pair of suede boots with dainite soles october through march. cant say that i take good care of them - clean and spray em perhaps twice a year. i love suede!

Rough out leather is just as durable as smooth leather.  After all, it's just smooth leather flipped inside out.  As for winter treatment, it's basically the same as for smooth leather- some form of protective coating and some common sense.  Let them dry out when they get wet, brush the crap off them when they get dirty.  Reapply the coating of protectant when it looks like it's wearing off.  Do the simple stuff and the boots should be good for years, even in tough winter locales.

Yeah. I think the service boots I linked above that the reenactment brigade waterproofed and polished look pretty great. Keeping my feet dry is important too, it's not just about the leather for me.

Thanks for that Peter and Chris. I may yet go with the cinnamon rough-out. Or this:

                                    Anyone know the colour/leather?
