Todd, what do you mean by info/tour?  Just want to be sure I know what you are after, so I can do it right. G

I don’t know IH history or how they manufacture (I haven’t researched it so sorry for that). I saw G write something the other week that they are looking to have there own factory. So do IH do the design work then contract it out (I think flathead do that) or do ih employees make it?

I think my biggest personal reason for buying this gear is that it is well made, but with that as I build things for a living and enjoy it and get well paid for it I believe and want the person that makes my clothing to enjoy it and get well paid. It would be nice to see that.

I know Mega said that china now has a minimal wage ( I haven’t read his blog and don’t know it all) but I saw on tv “gok wan  made in china” show. He goes to a factory where they make jeans and the employees live on site and don’t really make a living to sustain a lifestyle. That’s what I don’t want to buy.

It would be great to have a tour of the IH process from design to manufacture to arrival at IHUK then to me! And hopefully an insight to peoples lives we help fund with our purchases. From what I see it looks like H & G have a good lifestyle and I hope that is spread across the board (I know it wont be even but you get the idea)

Sorry for the long post  🙂

That's one reason I buy Japanese. Rightly or not I have faith that sweatshop conditions are unusual there.

          Think it, be it.

Todd, This may have to wait until November.  On my next Japanese visit, I will be going to Kojima with Winchy to document a lot of this…...

Really great questioning :). Giles I'm not sure if you've been following Kyle@TFH's updates on their processes, I think you've covered it off pretty well (and gone further 😉 ), but not a bad comparison. #exciting.

is one of my favourite videos online of all time. If I still smoked weed I imagine I'd blaze away to this once a week or something.. Honest Key Factor 1080p minimum. Don't skimp on quality. As time/technology moves forwards any lower is going to look quickly outdated…

I would like to congratulate and thank the cinematographer for Man of Steel for almost single-handedly ruining a movie with camerawork alone. I didn't think it was possible but there you have it. The latest mutation of cinema verite, where you as a cameraman must pretend you have palsy when you zoom, focus, or move the viewframe.

Didn't bother me at all, but I know loads of folks who hated Cloverfield and thought the camera work was awful whereas I thought it was genius.

I guess it's not everyones cup of tea, but it's a style I quite like.

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Turns out it's the guy from Fast and Furious, a Transformers movie, and the forthcoming Wolverine flick (damn):

While Snyder worked with cinematographer Larry Fong on both 300 and Sucker Punch, the cinematographer for Man of Steel is Amir Mokri whose previous works include Fast & Furious, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and  The Wolverine, which is scheduled to be released in July 2013. That shift in talent shouldn’t change Snyder’s individual convictions though, and we can expect something extremely stylised, even if it resists the temptation to go full comic book.

If you're going to fire someone, have the common courtesy to do it face to face.  I have no use for people so cowardly that they fire a person via text message.

The woman that we "share" a nanny with fired her today in said manner.
