A Type III without hand-warmer pockets feels kind of useless to me. Why no just wear a denim shirt?

Had a cheapie levis type III without pockets and constantly found myself looking for them thinking there should be pockets. Luckily IH makes type III with and without. Something for all… 🙂

Looks very, very good G. Can't wait for them to come in!

              Exactly.

If IH were a repro brand then I could see never having pockets on any Levis Type jacket. But, considering there is already an 18oz RAW, 21oz Indigo, 21oz OverDyed, 21oz SuperBlack, and Corduroy(Khaki, Black, and Olive) all without pockets, it seems to make sense to make this with pockets.

I think handwarmer pockets mar the aesthetic of a type iii. Type III chest pockets are beautiful, diagonal slats to me are not. My handwarmers are in my jeans, a hoody, or a heavy coat. YMMV and probably does.  I think removing the contrast stitching on the handwarmer pockets would have helped my eye at least on an otherwise flawless III.

                Think it, be it.

especially a denim jacket will work better without side pockets because the pocket inner lining will shine through whilst aging, it won't have an advanced look imo.
if there is need for more pockets/room to store, buy a jack wolfskin jacket or something like that…. 😉
whatever happened, this will be a great jacket...

As Urbs says, we do a load of Type III's without pockets - and specifically the IH-526J, if you want one without pockets buy one of them, do not bitch that I have decided to broaden the range….

Upon further reflection, this is a perfect example of not being able to please everyone all of the time.

For years people have been asking me to do a modified Type III, that is longer in the body (and in this case arms) and with hand warmer pockets.  I refused, because imo a classic Type III is short in the body and doesn't have hand warmer pockets.

I caved in eventually and made the Brown and Black Duck Type III's with side pockets (I pathetically reasoned with myself that a Duck Type III was not really a Type III anyway).  I actually and surprisingly liked them a lot and wear the Brown Duck regularly.

When Haraki and I discussed what we should make with the 19oz LHT, apart from the obvious (666 and 634 cuts), I decided to do something quite different, hence the Lefty Trucker.

I know it isn't everyones cup of tea, but nothing ever is.

And remember, we are not a repro company, we reinterpret.

I did not take it as griping, fear not.  But it did lead me to think about the vagaries of our own personal opinions.  It's all good.  And it that was a gripe, please continue….
