^I got half an inch shrinkage in waist and length as advertised with a hot soak, I'd like to take the opportunity though to quote the advice of Roy Slaper on soaking (and not just because it equals what I do ::) ):
My recommendation on soaking: To soak a pair of jeans takes no more than a few minutes. The fibers need simply to be saturated with water and then hung to dry. The jeans need spend no longer than 10 minutes in hot water. I do not use cold water to soak, so I can only comment on warm or hot. To soak longer will damage or destroy (if left hours) the leather patch. No further shrinkage will occur beyond the point where the fiber is saturated. Some agitation is recommended to ensure complete saturation and to rinse away some starch from the weaving process (they starch the yarns so they don't snag in weaving) If a maximum of shrinkage is desired, Machine washing on hot and hot tumble drying will shrink them more, but they come out in the shape of a dirt clod if you do it when they are new. Better to Soak, break in, then start machine washing and drying later.

Are they too tight? I've walked a few miles in the NYC today (awesome weather) and they're super comfortable so far. Breaking in quite nicely.

I'm pretty thin and they come right up where my hip bone sticks out a bit… Didnt really notice until midday. Proly just need to go a few days with out a belt (doesnt help my belt is 7mm thick as well) and let them loosen up a bit they aren't any tighter than what I usually wear its just where they hit me.

fit looks nice. How do you like the fit compared to the Vulcan and the RAW, especially the front and back rise?tbh. this cut is even better as the RAW and the Vulcan…but to really say what´s going on, i first need to wear them a few weeks/months i guess. for now though, i really like the fit in the topblock and also they look a bit slimmer from knee down, so that´s also a big plus. and on the other hand...that denim

I got the same thing going on. I have got a bruise where the denim seam is gathered near the top block. They aren't too tight in the waist, Ive just got to wear them in.

My first pair of IH´s: 34W, hemmed to 35.5. Been reading here for quite a while and still totally underestimated how thick the material is. Just insane, but they are already starting to loose up a little.
Picture are post cold soak. I didn´t want them shrink too much in the waist, they´re givin me a tough time anyway. Many thanks to the guys that made this special pair and the competition happen. I am not taking part but follow the battle closely. Somebody has to cheer from the ringside!
