Trons near Oxford, 1.5 hours out.

Listening to "Jail Break" by Thin Lizzy, seems appropriate under the circumstance.

G told me that you can't speed in the UK on highways because they have automated speed traps (motion sensors and cameras). They figure out how fast you were going between detectors, if you were speeding, you get sent a ticket.  That's some bullshit right there.

            Enjoy the CSM everyone!!!!

Not strictly true.  You can speed, you just need to know where feckin cameras are… 😉 😉

When we moved here, I did not know where they all were and got caught doing 35 in a 30 zone.  I was sent an invitation to pay GBP100 to go on a "learn to drive better course" or face a fine and get 3 points added to my license.  Once to get to 12, it's an automatic ban.... I elected to go on the course.

The first question they asked each of us criminals was what our driving experience was and where was our favourite place to drive.  I answered Andros in The Bahamas because even if you do get caught by the one policeman who is sober, you only have to give him enough for his next beer and you get let off.  Didn't go down very well....

You'd love driving in Texas.  I swear, speed limits are more or less optional and penalties for infractions are virtually inconsequential.  On the other hand, we have one of the highest rates of drunk driving in the country, as well as one of the highest rates of uninsured/unlicensed driving.  That's a bad combo.

well, it ain't that bad if they've got warning signs just before the cameras. like in singapore. they have signs up and whoever's speeding just slows down before the cam.

I just lost the will to live spending a whole afternoon at Ikea on a bastard bank holiday trying to find the appropriate rail for my Dawson Denim changing room curtain. Not easy for someone who can barely change a plug. Now I have a reason to live again. Can't wait for the next update. Gripped.

Was there (Croydon) a couple of weeks ago, Danny - I feel your pain 😠

Did you at least get a hotdog and fries on the way out?  Less tasty since the horse meat scandal… 😉

Yes, Croydon. The hotdogs were definitely lacking something now you mention it.
