    Your making the right decision Eli.  As for the rise, it won't shrink much, especially the rear rise. My vulcans have actually stretched about 0.3", from pre-soak sizing.  And please give these a chance, you can't make a decision on them, until you have at least worn them for 2-3 months.  Mine just came into their own, with about 3 months actual wear on them. Enjoy!!!!

    PS I told Seul that I'm a hick and proud of it. So he calls me Hick or Hicks now. FYI, if I'm a hick, my dad is an OG Hick.

      That and you look like Bill Hicks…

      And yeah: I've fondled the 18 oz denim before on a pair of IHxB01 RAWs... Intruiged ever since... But neither Busters nor the Vulcans are 100 % my kinda fit... So yeah: I'll give these a go...  🙂

        @Giles:

        You will get more shrinkage if you place in hot water with some sort of lubricant and agitate the hell out of them.  You are trying to reduce the frictions between the warp and weft yarns as much a possible.

        I totally get what you mean (I think)…. I'm gonna try that, as I've not washed my IH-666S yet. What kind of lubricant do you use to reduce the friction? Do you literally mean 'lube'? pictures Beavis and Butthead giggling or just something to get between the yarns, like Woolite..??

          Soap, detergent. Woolite will do.

            @Seul:

            Getting a pair… Need that 18 oz. denim in my life - endorsed by Hicks... Going for a size up to a sz. 34... Slightly less slim but still will have a nice taper, higher rise than TTS, waist will be around 33.5" = perfect...

            great decision lad!…

                    Yep - from Mild7…

                    I feel like such a n00b asking this question, but what is the MAXIMUM temperature I should wash these jeans at?.. I think me machine goes up to 90 but that seems a bit excessive (bearing in mind that I don't wanna turn the patch into toast!)...

                      I normally wash at 40 for my raw which basically almost identical to 18oz raw, but sometimes i did 60 with my IH overall without damage the patch. Spin at max 700rpm, been there, done that, no problem encounter. But be careful when the fabric new and stiff. Perhaps, hand wash in the beginning to stay safe.

                        Maybe soak 'm before putting them in the machine?.. Then a machinewash at a delicate setting (low rpm, 40 C°), then all out 60 C°, 800 rpm mayhem?..

                                I'd wash them twice 60°. ans as I don't give a fuck, I spin mine full speed, 1200rpms. That should tame those buggers.

                                Of course let them dry between washes.

                                (did this to my Raws and SR's)

                                    At your own risk of course…..;)

                                    (I actually washed Raws third time in 40°, but it didn't do any change anymore)

                                      I want all shrinkage gone as 1) the waist needs to shrink 1" and 2) I'm gonna have them hemmed more or elss to my perfect length.
