So I think I could make a 29 work, I might die but I could make it work.

So this is my question, are we still allowed an initial soak before wear and be able to compete in the no wash contest for that denim?

It gets out manufacturing chemicals and gunk; I've soaked sanforized jeans and had the water turn brown from all the stuff processed into the denim.  I soak every pair before I wear them, regardless of whether they're STF or not.

                            But hey, that's just me…

I'm with Chris, everything gets soaked, gets all the crap out.

And yes I know stanfordized doesn't "shrink" but there is still a tiny amount of shrinkage left that it gets out.

I also believe its good for the denim and gets stuff set where it wants to be.

Thanks for promoting cheaper alternatives for products I'm retailing to support the comp, maybe you could drop into the 634 thread and link every time you see a pair of Samurai or SDA for cheaper. Well done  😠

I think it is bloody bad form when people do this to me on this forum, but I let it ride, mainly because whenever for eg. Samurai gets mentioned, Iron Heart goes higher up the search engine hits - (try googling "samurai jeans").

However, I think it totally unacceptable when this is done to someone else and effectively stiffs a person who is putting a lot of time, effort and emotion into making something a success (and fun for an awful lot of people) for no personal monetary gain.

We have no problem with other brands being mentioned on this forum and in fact celebrate the diversity of discussion, but we do have a problem with it being done in the wrong thread with no forethought.  Do some of you park your manners at the door when you enter the forum?  Yes, I am pissed off.

I have deleted the offending threads, if you want to repost, do it in the right place.

I appreciate that the IH forum is quite open to all other brands and I for one try to just post about this stuff where it belongs (mainly the "Other brands" sub-forum)
