I drank (heavily) through every sickness from 1996-2007, and I'm not kidding

Between 1998 and 2012, there was one day I didn't drink… Fever was too high/ body was too sick to keep in the booze... It was homemade walnut liquor, really good stuff, and I tried, but alas...

So far, today, I had a Rochefort 10, a tuna steak with some cabbage and a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-pape (white)... Feeling fine... 😃

I would've preferred Belgian sprouts but you can't have it all…

I have had at least one alcoholic beverage per day for the last 7 years. Fact. Earlier this year I was rushed to hospital when the doctors thought I'd had a stroke…. Finished that day with 4 glasses of home made white wine  😉

Made in England, clothed in Japan, fed in America and drunk in Belgium !

Yup, still feel shitty every day, just learned that booze, happy thoughts, and doing what I love (outside of the 9 to 5) makes me feel better.

Woke up during the night because of a thunderstorm… It was snowing as well... Woke up this morning and it was pouring with rain out... Saw my 816s laying in the garden, face down in the mud… Result:

Well: they'll be dry tomorrow and I'll brush off the dirt… No big deal  🙂

They weren't even drying, just airing…  😃 If I'd tell people I clean my clothes by hanging them out during a snowstorm, and tossing them on the ground during a rainstorm, they'd question my sanity... But they'll smell good again at least...

I'll counter all the drinking in here, and say that other than the year before last year (when I tried again in ernest), I've been sober for 5 years. Not had a drink for the last 18 months. Have some $50/bottles being cellared under the stairs since 2009….Happiness is swimming, cycle, coffee, and denim 🙂

I admire you man, honestly. Me and Pam have talked about making next year the year of change for us in many ways, and it looks very much like it's going to happen. We're going to…

                                        • Work for ourselves.
                                        • Cut the booze right down (mainly me).
                                        • Take charge of our finances, as quite a few things have conspired against us this year.
                                        • Get healthy (again).

Shit has slipped for too long.

@Mega, that's mega all round! On the whole not drinking, it's all about the habits you have now, and your reforming them. It's not easy nor is it socially accepted, but the long term mental and physical health benfits are worth it. Plus a whole lot more time for the other items on your list 🙂 GO YOU TWO!
