First pic: me wearing my dad's size 46 IH-526Jod layered with my IHSH-13 and a long sleeve 8 oz Goodwear tee.
Second pic: wearing a fitted 42 with just a tee.
I like the type III both sized up and fitted.  The 46 looks killer with an super heavy XL flannel underneath and is super comfortable.

size 42 when it was new:

The 46 with a IH hoody and 634s is pure hard as fuck magic btw.  Don't be afraid of sizing up with the type III.

Just my $0.02 but the 46 suits you better (and you can button it up)…

It's not a very good pic.  I had a giant shirt on and threw on the jacket for a quick pic a couple of years ago when I got it.

I can button up the 42 but It's snug at the opening and rarely do.  Still love it.  It's actually my most worn item.

Edit: I live in San Deigo so the only time we button jackets or layer is when we're near the ocean at night.  But it's usually cool here.  Tee shirts, flannels, and denim are daily, year around wear.

                        RIP, Geo

That first pic is AMAZING, dude. In fact, I'll go so far as to say it's one of the best pics I've seen of this jacket.

I would be incredibly happy with that fit.

Yeah, thanks for the insights.  I'm understating my love for that 46.  I'm amazed by it myself.  It's my dad's.  I got it from Zhivago.  It rules all.

I just hand washed it a few hours ago and have been looking at it in the sun outside and it's the coolest thing I've ever seen in a piece of clothing.  I'll post pics of it.

Gave it a good hand wash.  Didn't change the overall appearance much.  The stitching's more apparent as some of the dye washed out.  The arm combs are slightly brighter.  Haraki's over dye is pretty stout stuff.

                                  Edit: one more close up.

Btw. My combs did look great after some days already. 9 months later they look pretty much the same 🙂

The 46 is really heavy.  Denser than the 21 0z because of the od treatment.  You can really feel the heft of when moving.  This is true love.
                                      We're quite lucky I think.

pretty versatile 4sure. I wore mine on hot summer days in the evening or with a flannel or hoodie and scarf, with temperatures under the freezing point… It looks great with a chino and faded jean due to it's dark hue.
