      @scroogen:

      I really don't find anything particularly western (cowboy theme) about IH. Maybe more of a 30s-70s workwear aesthetic if anything.  For the most part IH is just regular clothing made extremely well with ultra high quality fabric. Sure there are some peices that may look kinda vintagey, but I can wear all IH and most people won't even know that I have nice shit on, which is what I love about IH. And I don't ever feel like I just walked out of a cowboy movie.

        @Snowy:

        @G, I wonder if you love for Western clothing comes from a childhood of watching westerns?

        No, I just like the slightly more flashy element of a western shirt…

          Does anyone use "What App?" It's a messaging app available for just about all smartphones, which allows you to send text, picture and video messages for free, even internationally, by using wifi or your phones existing data. I thought it sounded perfect for me for the NY trip, but not if no-one else uses it.

            Thanks you all again, excited to get a western snap and learn directly. I continue to learn a lot  😘

            Aside, the thought/comments of western/cowboy ideology came from a BBC doco called The Power Of Nightmares (

                  For some balance on the snaps vs buttons thing:

                  Snaps on shirts are quite a modern invention, they were [arguably] introduce by Wrangler in the mid 30's for rodeo riders so they wouldn't get hooked up by their buttons. They didn't really gain traction until after the War, so I think we can safely say that anyone who would have been considered a "proper Cowboy" would have had a button shirt.

                  Buttons work better with heavy weight materials than snaps do, would you want snaps to fasten your jean flys and try fastening a heavy leather jacket like an Aero with snaps only?

                    Should my next pair of jeans be Skull 5000xx or Fullcount 0105?

                        I use WhatsApp a lot. iMessage can timeout, if the recipient has no current data connection, and send a message a SMS instead. Might be better for NY if others are on it.
