White's Boots

i still think they need to get those foam foot bed molds that Becks Boots uses. No f*cking around with a spouse to get her to hold the pen totally vertical, just step in the mold and send it off!

you bastard
want to share any pics along with us matey (or even urb?)?
-
You'll have to ask Urb about that man, but basically they're exactly the same as his but slightly more beat up. They were very cheap, and will make great daily beaters for work

Here's the listing….
They're more than likely going to be a little big for me, but at that price I can either layer with thick socks for winter, or give them to my cousin for Christmas as he is always fiending over my Whites

cool, Chris, I would like to know more about that.
Turns out the guy I was thinking about closed down his business and is now the Head Lastmaker at Nike. Found a video of the system he was working on, though.
Based on the date, I'm going to guess that nothing ever came of it, unfortunately.
-
Doubt they have the patent, unless they bought it when they hired him. Seems like it would be in their interest to put some money behind the system and license it as broadly as possible. That way people could buy online (directly from Nike) far more easily.

Here you go Mega, some quick pics.
My new pair vs. old style pair

Thanks Shane, looking forward to pounding some pavement in those bad boys.

just realized there's this small info section on bakers about leathers and all, with real images….

this sure would've helped alot more than the computerized one buildaboot provides… -
Close sole trim has only one line of welt stitching. It's strictly an appearance thing, by the way. The second line of welt stitching does not add any greater durability; in fact some bootmakers argue that it reduces the strength of the welt by adding holes and weakening the leather.
