I've actually never tried on a pair of 301s before either. They seem like the perfect cut for me too. I like that selvedge ID too much I guess.
I don't know why but I prefer the superblack denim to the SBG. It feels tougher even though they're the same weight. If they fit weird I'll probably stick to my plan of getting sz36 9634Z and having them tapered.

Just got these, size 31. was just wondering what you guys thought of this fit….it feels like there's heaps of room in the hips and these are only 1 full day of wear. initially not that hard to button up, now no problem at all. i'm not so worried about the waist as i'm happy to just wear a belt, but the hips really. the funny thing is i thought i had sized down but apparently i've lost some weight. what do u guys reckon:
(a) hot soak and keep
(b) trade/sell and size down to size 30thanks

i don´t think that a hot soak would solve any problems, since this denim won´t shrink much, since it´s sanforized.
if you don´t like the fit i´d sell and size down one…not that i would force you to do it, since i actually quite like the fit, but since i also now that this denim is going to stretch a lot with wear, i´d size down and hope for my final fit to just look like the one you´re having right now......hope you understand what i wanted to say! had a few beers already
