how would one build out a custom pair like these ??? :
I really dig the overall look
I think these are the build that's only available to the Japanese market. You could try a motor patrol toe, standard stitching, standard motor patrol heal height, standard instep strap, and black leather. That might get you there. If you email the picture to Bakers, they'll be able to get it made for you. Hop that helps.

Thank you very much, it does indeed help! Are these the Wesco Narrow Engineers only available in Japan? I had no idea, I just saw the pic on superfuture and wanted them immediately
I would definitely lengthen the straps by an inch or two if I go with a custom build.

fuck, now I need an engineer boot….

Those are not the Narrows, lacking triple stitching, old wesco stamp, and higher stacked heel, and i don't think that is black fire leather. You could easily make the boot you posted in Wesco custom. You can nearly make the Narrow, but Wesco won't (from my attempt) put the highliner heel on an engineer with MP toe and last, Japan has the exclusives to that combination for now.

Yes. Get the lining. Any soft material between your body and Wesco's is a good thing.
-
Usually lining is used with softer leather so the shaft is more rigid.
Also absorbs sweat and thus extends the life of the shoe/boot…..

Wesco is having a sale. $50off new boots+$20 off shipping. Doesn't apply to factory seconds but if you can find the clearance area it does apply to those.
-
what do you mean clearance areas?
http://www.westcoastshoe.com/wesco/stock.asp
Not sure if this will take you to the clearance section directly, but you should at least see the link in the top left corner.
edit: go to the stock boots page, then go to highliners, then look in the top left corner for the clearance area link.

would anyone be able to speak on the quality of the Wesco burgundy leather? I know it is 5oz and 2mm thick…I posted a similar question in the Viberg thread because I really like the idea of the Merlot CXL but am not sure how it measures up against the Wesco Burgundy...if anyone has any thoughts on quality comparisons between the Wesco and Viberg engineers would be grateful.
