One size down might run a little snug at the hem when seated.

I like that fit.  My hickory's about a half inch longer in the sleeves than some of my other westerns, but  I like the longer sleeves on that particular shirt.

Ok, so I just received my IHSH-07. Here are my initial impressions:

                      1. Holy crap.
                      2. This shirt is heavy and tough. So impressive.
                      3. The fit is SPOT-ON. Thanks for the sizing help G.
                      4. It's stiff as a board. In the wash it goes 🙂

It's worth mentioning that I've never had such luck with shirts off the rack. They always fit me funny, or the sleeves are too short, or I have to size up for sleeve length but end up with a shirt that's way too big in the shoulders, and frankly everywhere else.

With all of that said, the fit of this shirt is incredible. It's flattering, cut just right for me, and the sleeves are the perfect length.

What's the weight of the fabric? It seems really heavy. I thought the New Wabash was heavy, but wow!

I always considered this shirt as an IH staple.  Mind you, this shirt is cut a bit more roomy, need to take this into consideration when looking at another shirt in the same size.

It is heavy.  I've had mine for a couple of years and I still kinda trip on how heavy it is.
It feels heavier than my TWs and those are around 13 oz.

The shirt is really softening up. I can tell this shirt will be a go-to for a long time.

I'm new to IH and ordered this shirt in a L as my first piece of IH. I've grossly underestimated the sizing. I mostly wear button ups and wear a M to L in almost all I've ever worn. This by far is the smallest L I've ever seen. I can't even get it around me to button. Just a heads up to any new guys getting into IH. I'm going to need a XXL. On a positive note, this is a very well made shirt. Everything about it screams quality. The details along with the fabric used are just amazing. Looking forward to getting one that fits.

Welcome Mike, in the future the best way to determine your sizing is to measure an item that currently fits you well and compare to the measurements on each product page. I wear one size larger in IH than I normally wear in any other brand, so not uncommon. Enjoy!

Sorry about that but we do put the measurements of every item on the site.  There is no such thing as a global L.  People from different races differ in size.  I am an L in Japanese, but an American L will swamp me…..
