Inspired by the upcoming boxset release, which I'm not totally sold on yet, I've been on a big Disintegration Loops kick the past few days. Really haunting stuff which is intrinsically linked with an important moment of modern history, some info…
Disintegration Loop 1.1 consists of one static shot of lower Manhattan billowing smoke during the last hour of daylight on September 11th, 2001, set to the decaying pastoral tape loop Basinski had recorded in August, 2001. Shot from Basinski's roof in Williamsburg Brooklyn, this is an actual documentary of how he and his neighbors witnessed the end of that fateful day. It is a tragically beautiful cinema verite elegy dedicated to those who perished in the atrocities of September 11th, 2001

After a weekend in San Antonio, today we're heading home. Naturally, this is the song running through my head:

What, not a fan of Soul Coughing? They remind me of college. Besides, there aren't many songs with Houston in the title/lyrics…

Anybody on here use Rdio.com? I love the social aspect and I'm always looking for new music to plug into. I pretty much keep my Rdio going all day at work, in my car, on my headphones, through my HiFi at home, and any other place I haven't mentioned yet…When I find someone else on it, it's always a treat to pour through their collection, it's like digging through a buddy's record crate, or CD binder.

What, not a fan of Soul Coughing?
I only like two kindsa music… Black Metal and classical (piano)music... I will not dislike anyone over playing some jazz or country either... But that's about it... If anyone out there has a deathwish: move to Belgium, bring Ipod, play R&B song in stabbing distance...

This is one reason why I like Eli so much!

I'm coming to visit. You'll know when I'm close, because I'll be playing a custom mix of Usher, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Jesse McCartney, Rihanna, and Lady GaGa.
Metal is for anti-social drunkards.
