hi. I'm new to the site. I have a pair of ihxb01xod. i recently had them hemmed at self edge in ny. they did the hem in black thread. when i received the pants i asked why black thread and they said the yellow thread would be too bright since it hadn't gone through the overdye process. i really like the detail of the yellow and was wondering if anyone here has used a yellow or black thread and what they thought. self edge says they will redo if i want but i thought i would check in here first. thanks

I was just over on the 634 B thread and it looks like someone just got some new od's hemmed from Giles w/ yellow thread.  They look ok to me.

Just got my IH-634S-B on Monday and G hemmed with a yellow thread.  I was concerned about this as well before I ordered.  I must say they are noticeable but no cause for concern and I'm pleased at the way they turned out.  Would like to see what they look like with a black thread.  Any pics ian816?

With as much dye transfer as you get off these jeans, just rub the hems together and those yellow threads should darken right up in just a few seconds.  In theory of course.

Nothing wrong with the black thread but I like the yellow better.

I use yellow as default (unless the customer asks otherwise) because that is the colour of the original thread. personally I do not think there is too much contrast and when the jeans age, it will look completely natural…..

So I finally got my shit together with respect to obtaining some IH over-dyed goodness. 3rd time lucky!

The first attempt was size 34 666's bought from SE last year. They broke my balls and got sent back (the jeans, not my balls. They're still round here somewhere).
Second attempt was BB od's size 34. Nice, but considering how these things stretch I knew they would end up too big.

Finally, the size 33 BB's, and I'm happy as the proverbial pig in shit.

Only a few days into these, but sooooo damn comfortable and they fit like a knob in a hole. The waist has stretched from an intial 32 inches to 33 and a bit, with a little more stretching expected.

Dope picks RR.  I'm looking at these jeans for a potential future pair.  The fit on these look tremendous.  I'll be hard pressed to buy anything but the IH-634S-B though.
