I have to think the Vibergs would take a lot more abuse than the Trickers.  My Trickers are pretty dainty….

Apparently this is not a danger to the integrity of the construction, and this is something a local cobbler should be able to fix. But I won't bother unless the gap expands to the point where one could fly a small RC airplane in between.

Although I did get this answer from the Bureau:

      Hi Eli,

      Hope you are well?

That is a fault by the looks of it.  If you could send them back to us at the address below (let me know the cost and I will reimburse you) and I will organise to have them repaired free of charge for you. Tricker's will put them on the original last and replace the sole unit.

We have been selling Tricker's for over 15 years and we rarely have any problems like this so I hope you understand that this is a fairly isolated incident.

      Best regards,

      Gareth

              True.

Usually the forums are a place folks come to air grievances and generally bitch about the decline in standards of customer service , so it's especially nice when someone shares an example of a retailer that does things really well.  Thanks for that, Seul.  And props to the Bureau for being a class act.:)

Throughout my purchase I was continously helped in a quick and very friendly and helpful matter. And now their follow-up service proves to be top notch as well… Guess where I would recommend buying a pair or Tricker's at?.. Right...  🙂

No outcome. This is more than possibly caused by my abusing these boots, so I will try and get them mend at my own cost prior to abusing BB's and Tricker's generosity…

                          Hi Eli,

Sorry for the delay - a bit short staffed at the moment.

If you want to go ahead and get them fixed yourself then that's no problem but if it reoccurs then just let me know.

                          Best,

                          Gareth

Second layer of Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Polish - paying attention to the stitching, fat layer on those… Used a hairdryer to blow dry (and let the polish absorp deeply into the leather), and whiped off the leftover polish residue...

Leather on these is now buttersoft and supple… Lovely!.. Next up are my Red Wings  ???

I don't think Leffot carries them but you should most definitely go there. You may hate me after you leave with a receipt though. Check them out online at least.

Ha - I know what you mean - I've been over there a few times to check their Vieberg's.

I've not made a purchase there, the only things I've ever wanted luckily weren't in my size.

You look at a few pairs of shoes that are over 1000 and suddenly it's no thing to buy a pair that are 700.

                                      Funny how that works.

                                      Ha.

I'm out here working fashion week, but I'll find some time to hit Freeman's and check their Vieberg colabo's.

                                      Cheers,

                                      Jesse

                                        Hi there,

I am not a regular user on this forum , I just occasionally read.
The reason I created an account is that I am setting up a group buy for a pair of mto trickers longwings.
These longwings are based on the limited batch released by museum ark.
In general longwings are only available as mto by trickers.
The premium for a single pair mto made trickers is 180gbp resulting in a subtotal 520gbp for one pair.
I am in contact with Richard from shoehealer who set up the same batch order for a few styleforum members. He is offering to drop the 180gbp and sell the shoes for 340gbp (same as a regular pair trickers would cost) including shipping worldwide including 20% vat (which gets deducted if you are located outside the EU) If there are at least 6 takers !
It takes about 2months to receive the shoes after the order has been placed.
The shoe will be made on the 81 last which is a bit tighter fitting than the very genrous fitting 4444 last , if you have experience with trickers country collection you will know what I mean , for sizing advice please contact Richard at www.shoehealer.co.uk

If you are interested please get in touch. Richard requires a 100gbp deposit from every buyer at the time of the order.
I am placing this post in other forums as well to collect people for the bulk order, as there are 6 buyers I will place the order, so do not hesitate if you want to join in.

                                        Options (see pics) :

                                        black eyelets
Dainite sole vs double leather sole
                                        grain / grain
                                        all smooth
smooth/grain ( see end hunting x trickers collabo)

The 6 buyers however will have to agree on the same version afaik
At the moment we are 3 takers , at least 3 more are required.
                                        Lets make this happen !

Stopped in Grahame Fowler today to check out some White's Boots.
Great guys there. Super British shop. TONS of Trickers.
They have a few pairs of Trickers and White's on sale. Almost got some Red Buffalo Semi Dress White's but they only had sz 8D left for $368. I think they have some brown cap toe Semi-Dress Whites in a few sizes left for the same price. Go check it out if you're in town. Great deals.
