Not having this after two months of wear. Bureau of Belfast has been contacted.

When you treat your footwear like shit, what do you expect? Not BB's issue. You should contact Tricker's.

I'm supposed to limit my prancing about to my Diors only!..

I contacted BB first. We'll see. Also: four year old Grensons. See the difference there, Lando?..

Oh I see a difference alright. Thing is those Grenson's look like the Crayton or some other similar model. Point being, you are trying to compare (if I am correct in thinking the above is the Crayton or some older incarnate) two completely different boots. The Grenson's look to be serious work boots designed to be beat to shit. Not designed for style or fashion in mind. The pair of Tricker's (I believe they are the Low Leg "Logger") are sold on a site dedicated to fashionable men, not lumberjacks or workers of any physical sort.
I have no doubt that Tricker's is just as solid of a company who began roughly the same time as Grenson. I am not sure if Tricker's makes a boot intended for the purposes you are using them for. Either way just like your OSB's, kicking boxes will mess with the integrity of their construction. I also love your boots and completely understand the idea of getting your wear out of things you payed good money for, but don't act surprised when they blow out. Just my opinion. Cheers Seul

            Oh, honesty…how I love the.

Dude's got a point, Eli. I did similar work to what you're doing for years–still do on occasion at my father's shop--and only ever considered wearing a boot of this sort (my actual pair):http://www.stcfootwear.com/product/50/safety-footwear

Sure, they're not SuFu approved, but I'm not crying when they get fucked up--even though they don't--because that's what's supposed to happen.

I'd get the Tricker's repaired and then retire them to evening and weekend wear. Get yourself some real work boots and you might find that that your job becomes a bit easier as you're not constantly worrying about inevitable wear and tear. Don't worry, I'm sure Iron Heart endorses the steel toe.

Eh; if you're kicking pallets, you're kicking pallets. The Scout Boot is sick, but you're still likely to see similar damage. And at $750 a pair, why bother?

True. I contradicted myself on that one. Either way they would do better than the Tricker's. No need to talk further, you know what to do.

Apparently this is not a danger to the integrity of the construction, and this is something a local cobbler should be able to fix. But I won't bother unless the gap expands to the point where one could fly a small RC airplane in between.

Although I did get this answer from the Bureau:

                      Hi Eli,

                      Hope you are well?

That is a fault by the looks of it.  If you could send them back to us at the address below (let me know the cost and I will reimburse you) and I will organise to have them repaired free of charge for you. Tricker's will put them on the original last and replace the sole unit.

We have been selling Tricker's for over 15 years and we rarely have any problems like this so I hope you understand that this is a fairly isolated incident.

                      Best regards,

                      Gareth

Usually the forums are a place folks come to air grievances and generally bitch about the decline in standards of customer service , so it's especially nice when someone shares an example of a retailer that does things really well.  Thanks for that, Seul.  And props to the Bureau for being a class act.:)

Throughout my purchase I was continously helped in a quick and very friendly and helpful matter. And now their follow-up service proves to be top notch as well… Guess where I would recommend buying a pair or Tricker's at?.. Right...  🙂

                                          Hi Eli,

Sorry for the delay - a bit short staffed at the moment.

If you want to go ahead and get them fixed yourself then that's no problem but if it reoccurs then just let me know.
