Tricker's
-
Seul, I think we all know the answer to this one: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5&products_id=251
-
True. I contradicted myself on that one. Either way they would do better than the Tricker's. No need to talk further, you know what to do.
-
I have to think the Vibergs would take a lot more abuse than the Trickers. My Trickers are pretty dainty….
-
Apparently this is not a danger to the integrity of the construction, and this is something a local cobbler should be able to fix. But I won't bother unless the gap expands to the point where one could fly a small RC airplane in between.
Although I did get this answer from the Bureau:
Hi Eli,
Hope you are well?
That is a fault by the looks of it. If you could send them back to us at the address below (let me know the cost and I will reimburse you) and I will organise to have them repaired free of charge for you. Tricker's will put them on the original last and replace the sole unit.
We have been selling Tricker's for over 15 years and we rarely have any problems like this so I hope you understand that this is a fairly isolated incident.
Best regards,
Gareth

kudos to the folks over at the Bureau. love those kind of customer service stories.
great sh!t
-
Yea that is great (and rare) service.
-
True.
Usually the forums are a place folks come to air grievances and generally bitch about the decline in standards of customer service , so it's especially nice when someone shares an example of a retailer that does things really well. Thanks for that, Seul. And props to the Bureau for being a class act.:)

No outcome. This is more than possibly caused by my abusing these boots, so I will try and get them mend at my own cost prior to abusing BB's and Tricker's generosity…
Exactly what I was thinking. Outcome not determined, but positive moves in the right direction…...
one more time you guys are right o/course…!

Second layer of Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Polish - paying attention to the stitching, fat layer on those… Used a hairdryer to blow dry (and let the polish absorp deeply into the leather), and whiped off the leftover polish residue...
Next person who says I treat my shoes like shit can kindly walk under a bus for all I care
Leather on these is now buttersoft and supple… Lovely!.. Next up are my Red Wings ???

I don't think Leffot carries them but you should most definitely go there. You may hate me after you leave with a receipt though. Check them out online at least.
