A dackel!!

That's one mighty fine and gorgeous hound dog you got there, @Chap! You very obviously have great taste! I've grown up with them, but have never had a long hair. I hear they're the sweetest.

I recently lost my best friend/fellow life traveler/partner eight weeks ago this coming Saturday, but I digress...

He was a wire hair and a whirling dervish of insanity (in the best possible way, of course)

So sorry about your loss @nonikes that's the sad part about having a dog. Dachshund is a great breed although they are very special. Ellie is not very friendly with strangers I really love wire hairs, beautyfull dog you had

The mom,June, is the tuxedo in the second pic. All of her babies look unique. All 4 of the younger ones were born on my bed 2 years ago.

We had 7 cats, but 2 of our old girls passed away in the last 6 months.

Wiley, the striped boy on the right in the first pic is a polydactyl or Hemingway cat, a total of 15 front toes. Rare, but found most commonly in the US Southeast, where I am.

Mama June and Aria. Aria literally gets in the shower on the bench and takes a full on shower with us. Gets drenched. Obsessed with water.

That genuinely (genuinely) means a lot dudes, @Chap and @Oaktavia. Gotta admit, it's been a slog, as I'm sure it's been for you too, @Oaktavia, and I'm very sorry to hear about your losses. Losing one's shit enough, but two!?! holy smokes.

Oh yes. Ellie is suffering from IVDD, she had two slipped discs and two surgeries last year. It's been a though time for her (and us...!)

Thanks, yes she ist fine. She can walk again, almost like before. Yes lots of physio, still once a week. Big part of the success.

@Chap Oh, no, poor Ellie! as I'm sure you know all too well, back issues are doxie's biggest bug-a-boo.

otherwise, they're mostly prefect. Very glad to hear she's on the mend. Nothing's worse than a suffering pet/animal.

Meet the TENDREL shop dog, Obi. Next week will be 4 years since my friend found him wandering around Ocean Beach in San Francisco. He is a total rascal, and is quite moody, but we are attached at the hip. If you ever get the chance to come visit the shop he might let you give him a belly scratch...

@Oaktavia Thanks! We are pretty sure at this point that he is a toy poodle. We were never poodle or small dog people, but are totally converted on both of those fronts. Hard to beat the no shedding...
