@Anesthetist and @mclaincausey they're both cool bags. Keus still have a few of the bigger GoRucks in (and I'm tempted), whilst my chest is definitely too big for the chest strap on the Rofmia.

@steelworker I agree, his work looks fantastic.

Touchdown of the GR1 today. I'm impressed, it's fairly heavy as mentioned before. I like the denim, but I will need to get used to how high it sits on my back. I guess that will prove to be comfortable in the long run, but for now it is fairly unusual.

In other news, I'm getting a leather briefcase made for work (I'm a lawyer). Met the guy behind this business on the Heritage Post (the magazine) trade show last year: https://siegmundundfritz.de/

@goosehd: Here's a picture of the work in progress, the leather and the tweed for the inner lining.
The technical detail behind the bag is: they're in principle made of one piece of leather. Thus you're limited in the size of the bag because bulls only grow up to a certain size. As I wanted to have more storage room, the upper closure will get a little shorter, whereas the volume of the bag increases.

Obsessed with this thang. Got my EDC load out set with all of the batteries, chargers, adapters, office supplies, etc, with only a hero clip left to add to the mix, and I have hella space left thanks to the efficiency of organization.

Anyone have one of these bags? Looking at the Wilder backpack. Looks pretty solid.

Any advice on a waxed canvas and leather backpack? Like to use it as a day pack for hiking and fishing.

@chrisjohnnick gotcha. Thanks man. I’ve been wondering how comfortable the wilder is for actual hiking and backcountry use. I do a lot of 6-12 miles hikes to fish high alpine lakes. Wondering if the wilder is going to be comfortable for that type of use…or is it just a cool looking we’ll build bag that isn’t necessarily comfortable for deep hikes.

@Mizmazzle Yea, it looked great and fit what I needed in it. I went with something else because I didn't really like the roll top style, and the leather straps weren't comfortable on my shoulders. I decided I needed zippers and padded shoulders.

I bought this from a German company (Steinkauz) recently for bushcraft type shorter activities. It combines the functional with waxed cotton and some leather bits and is surprisingly comfortable. For anything where function and light-weight really matters (longer hikes, mountains etc) I would go for something purely functional and light.

I am after a backpack for work which will allow me to carry a fair bit (25 - 30 litres) but also will have a relatively well protected compartment for a laptop. I have scrolled through this section and got a few ideas but wonder if anyone has a particular recommendation for what I am after?
