The 2014 FIFA World Cup

I hate this player. He is a great striker, but the rest of him is just awful. Unsportsmanlike behavior, diving, cheating, whining. Why is he allowed to rot this game?
-
If he isn't banned for the rest of the tournament there is something wrong at FIFA (well, more wrong than the obvious).
Torn by the Japan Vs Colombia game, I have money on Colombia but I always support Japan.
-
Can we please drop a f#cking nuke on Greece already!
-
Oh this was heartbreaking to watch the Ivory Coasts team after this last minute loss via a penalty. Greece is the by far least deserving squad to reach the last sixteen.
Japan didn't show very much, our friends in Nippon clearly have other strengths. -
Now that Greece are through, it's going to be like Euro 2004 all over again!
-
Now, now, Maynard, let's not overreact and panic!
What it does mean at this stage is that either Greece or Costa Rica will make it to the last eight. My hopes are, and my money is on the Costa Ricans. -
3 times is enough. He should be gone. FIFA knows exactly what they're doing, which is maximizing hype and profit over all else. Which makes me think we will see more Suarez.
-
Things are turning up, two of three of my teams which i feel emotionally attached to have come through.
Seriously now.. no other sporting event, or event of ANY kind, has fucked my productivity like the World Cup. -
Obviously he's not eating enough protein before matches .
Suarez I meant , not Kiya …....
-
Does the Uruguay team not feed Suarez enough that he's always so hungry?! And on another note, it's sad to see Ivory Coast go. They had a good team and I at least expected a QF place from them.

@kiya: What is the third team, assuming Iran and the USA are two of the three?
@louisbosco: Totally am with you about Ivory Coast. It was fun to watch them, and I was so routing for them to advance.
Today am very keen to see how France and Argentina fare, and send some good wishes over to our Swiss friends, their great (German) coach deserves a good closing of his career! -
-
Ah, thanks! They showed pretty strong so far. Not so sure about some of their fans, I've heard somewhat ugly things about them. And well, what I think about their jerseys I've mentioned here before…..

The England team visited an orphanage in one of the Rio slums. "It's heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Jose, aged 6

Revenge of the Europeans in group E! I'm so happy for the Swiss (hopp Schwiiz!!) and the French seemed to have a sort of blockage against scoring today. Plus a superb Nigerian (my mistake: it was, of course, Ecuador they played, whereas Nigeria is their next opponent) goalkeeper working against them.
Argentina is largely a one-man show of Lionel Messi. The man's a genius, but how far can he take his team, who come across as so mediocre?
Here, everybody and his cat are talking about Germany v. USA tomorrow. Will they draw or will they not?
