because dropping from a public bench after too much sun and booze makes you a clochard, while doing the same in a bar... does not.

before we're totally drifting into random:
thank god that germany has a halfway decent public transport system, and that my house in the netherlands is on an island we're nobody cares if you're drunk on a bike.also: i tried out drinking under supervision during my law studies. we needed to drink a certain amount to reach the 0,5‰ limit, that is the max you are allowed to drive with. in my case, that was 1.2 litres of 4.8% beer in one hour (@Tago-Mago insert random Kölsch joke here). never would have driven after drinking that much in the first place. the beer only got me to 0,39‰ anway.

@goosehd like all my classics - mostly driven just to the shop and back.

I have way too much stuff...
Plan is to go through the front end first, finally dial in the diff properly (you need a spreader for the housing on a dana 30) and double check the brakes in the process. Engine has been this way ever since i slapped it back together when i got the rig, so it'll survive some kms more i guess. -
RE: 4x4’s & Overlandingposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
@goosehd based on frequency it's cam rpm, not crank rpm. heads completely rebuilt, so it's not a valve. all lifters cleaned and reassembled. only guess is that a lifter is losing pressure under load, because the noise takes some time to appear after startup. don't really want to break in new lifters on this old cam...

@mclaincausey that looks more like mine in it's current state. i kinda like the beaten down look.
if i only could figure out that damn ticking noise in the engine and why it is pulling to one side when braking hard... i'm not new to this, but this is leaving me scratching my head.

@SKT the elastic will loose it's elasticity (is that the word i'm looking for?). i just measured mine, there's not much stretchiness left in them, and they sit at around 37".

@CosmoSix5 yes, i'm pretty sure that will work. i have about the same waist and i'm wearing the khaki ones in XL comfortably.
