@Go-For-Chill yeah.. my normal size, but it is complicated since I soaked the shirt partly because it was a bit big at the time. Shirt shrank a bit, and in the meantime I got larger.. Bottom line is that the shoulders and chest are now too tight and I am currently not wearing the shirt. Btw for me this shirt is not really an overshirt (even if it was large enough) .. since it flares a bit when open, and I prefer hand warmer pockets for overshirts...

@Go-For-Chill this is xxl, same size than most of my IH western shirts. I have some key measurements below which I don't go.. for shirts that is P2P, length and arm length.. also shoulders. Had to go up recently from P2P 23.5 to ideally 24". So really follow the measurements and ignore the tag size... In particular for special items like the pale rider. Also careful when reading through old threads that discuss sizing often refering to previous runs of the same item...

@long_john86 the hope is that there will be a short period between late middle age weight gain and terminal skinny grandpa, where the smaller shirts will fit again...

@goosehd fair enough.. and thanks for keeping this forum a nice place! Can't be easy to balance proactive intervention with this diverse crowd!

@long_john86 Size is XXL, but I would need to check if the actual sizing was the problem (vis a vis my current increased size..), or how much the shrink from the soak contributed. I am in general more going oversized these days (more like the relaxed sizing @denim-dawg has going). So likely would size up to XXXL.
No further Pale Riders in my immediate future though (neither selling @goosehd nor buying)....

Honest: its a great shirt and if it would fit better (the photo is a bit exaggerated) I would wear it much more. If I was to improve anything I would choose a softer leather (but I think this is already happening), and add CPO style handwarmer pockets. Ah one thing to consider: the shirt flares a bit and looks a bit strange (to me) if worn open. Unlike most IH CPO's and jackets. See some pictures further up in the thread.. something to consider if you plan on wearing it almost always open (like a Type III say)...

@deanclean it was a bit large when I got it around 3 years ago. Inspired by some rash experiments posted by someone else on the forum I gave it a quick cold soak. This was tightening things up a bit. Over the last years I gained a bit of weight and spend too much time swimming and on the rowing machine (in other words I got fat)... The zebra thing happened when briefly wearing a black Ondura leather vest.

@deanclean If you insist I can cheer you up with a photo of how not so great I look in this shirt, which is now slightly too small for me in the shoulders and p2p and had an unfortunate encounter with a black leather vest that left it zebra-fied

@thatdenimguy How you like the Iron Shirt? Got the same one 2 weeks ago, but not super happy with the boxy cut. Went XL (normal IH shirt size XXL), and while a lot of space p2p the arms are almost too short. Also hope it gets a bit softer.. as it is I only wear it as a jacket, not really indoors as a shirt. Like what they have done with the massive interior pockets, and the almost invisible handwarmer pockets in the side-seam (although one has to strangely reach back quite far).
