Talking about necroposting @tody. I just found this beauty in the bay.
Washed it with conditioner, put some Greenland wax on it (guess where I missed to iron afterwards). Will put another layer on anyway.
Great jacket. I thinking of getting it lined. Kind of polyesther quilt sleeves and a wool blanket lined body.

@endo curious if you're still happy with your waxed version after a few years? You have me thinking about waxing mine. I think mine would look better if it was darker.

I was kinda intimidated by UHR after reading about their alleged tough break-in. But these things are easier out the gate than any of the IH 25oz pairs I’ve broken in and honestly not much difference from the 21oz.

Trying to summon the courage to put on my new magic standing denim. It’s 95F and only 53% humidity out today. I expect Iron Heart to cover the cost of a custom denim coffin.

Curious on the initial soak and wash instructions found here: https://ironheart.co.uk/pages/product-care-guidlines

Why do the instructions call for drip drying your UHR after the initial soak and then washing? Why not soak and then straight to washing without first drying? I assume there's reasoning behind this but I'm too dense to pick up on it.

I am now giving them the first try on - to @Denimhead-0 's point - how do you even do the buttons!? I have done 2 and that will do for today!!!

A little button hole TLC with a pair of needle nose pliers is my method.

As this is my first go around with UHR, would it be prudent to warm-ish soak, skip washing and then hang dry to take it easy on shrinkage out the gate? Then if they're too big after round one, do it again? Pretty sure I've got sizing right but don't want to overshoot and end up with something too small.

@Pointman my 666 SBG are 34 and I ordered 33 in UHR. that sounds about right to me!

The lovely IH folks were kind enough to find me a 33 that skewed a bit larger. So I think all will be okay.

      Ordered! I measured my 666S-21 34 and 666-XHS 33 and hopefully I got it right ordering a 33.

We hemming at purchase while accounting for inseam shrinkage or leaving unhemmed? While I'd rather wait and hem mine later, any chainstitch job requires me mailing to someone or taking a roadtrip. Not ideal. I generally wear a 30 inseam, so I could hem just a few inches off to avoid having giant rolls. Like hem it to a 34 and be safe to hem again in the future.

I’ve got a roomy pair of 666s-21 size 34 and a more fitted pair of 666-XHS 25oz in a 33. Trying to read size charts and tea leaves on which size to buy in 666-UHR.

Has anyone ventured out to the Samurai Cotton Project outside of Osaka? Seeing how the sausage is made and dyeing your own item as part of a tour sounds like fun to a nerd like me.

@Pointman Hi! We have just measured a vast amount of Large's and XL's and can confirm with this run, the Large is in fact longer than the XL/XXL.

Please note sizing can be a little erratic with cut and sewn, so if you do have any specific desired measurements please get in touch and we will do our best to find the most suitable item remaining in stock for you.

I can confirm the chest measurement is now reading correctly, as the updated size chart was not uploaded initially so my apologies for this!

If you have any other questions please give me a shout.

      Thank you, kind sir.

Looks like the Grey size chart has a typo? Length for L is 27.1 INCHES while XL is 26 INCHES. Those chest measurements up to date? I think good ol' metric may be correct?

    • RE: Tokyo (JP)

Appears I'll be in Japan the end of September through the Silver Week holidays. Only things I know for sure is I'll be Tokyo and Osaka at some point. I plan on visiting Iron Heart. But I'm wondering, if I'm going to be in both Tokyo and Osaka, do I need to visit the Hachioji store vs the much more accessible Osaka store? Do they carry much more stock at Hachioji? Everyone here is going to tell me to visit both, right?

Really impressed with this one. Almost impossible to photograph the lighter blue color but it's a showstopper. SUPER excited to see how this one fades. These photos don't do it justice. Sad the Texas Sun dictates I won't get to wear it until October. Now if only I could get my family to plan all work trips to Japan around all the Iron Heart release dates...

When did IH switch from sewn-in cloth placards/ hanger tags on the pocket to the paper ones we see today on the IH-666-XHS - 25ox? Recently acquired this pair that still has ones sewn in and trying to date them. Thanks for any input.

      One-Washed

      • Post construction, we wash the completed garment in an aggressive industrial washing machine. This process removes virtually all potential shrinkage.
      • No further shrinkage is expected when washed according to our care guidelines
        Care Guidelines
      • We recommend washing this garment at 30°C with a low (or no) spin cycle. Hang dry, do not tumble dry

Wow. Is there's some sort of IH signal that shines in night sky when someone posts a question as such!?!? Thanks for the quick answer!
