I think some t shirts are just cut that way. I've got a few (not Merz) that do it and it bugs me too. They don't sit great under jackets either.
I prefer to try t shirts on before buying to avoid it.

I don’t personally see that kind of bigotry on Instagram, but I definitely do on Facebook, and rarely use it as a result. It’s a shame you’ve had to delete your accounts, rather than the platforms dealing with it.
@sabergirl absolutely. A forum that I used to frequent, car based, the first post on every question was ‘have you searched’. People don’t mind sharing knowledge but giving the same answers over and over gets old pretty quick. It’s why it’s a shame Facebook killed most of the forums as it’s a terrible way of centralising knowledge
@wjw I suspect the model sizing has to do with all the samples being one size (large I think).
@Mizmazzle the thumbs up from the guy in the motorbike is a nice touch.
Looks like the heatwave in the UK might have broken so back out of shorts for now. I’m really happy that the orchid in the background is flowering - it was my mum’s (she passed away late last year) and I’m not as green fingered as she was.
Vintage Levi’s henley
Samurai fatigues 15oz or so
Lofgren engineers
@Alex Comes with a built in picnic table. Practical.
@ZackB I’m not certain as I bought them used, but I’m pretty sure the Wescos are Boss as they don’t have the MP toe.
I’m definitely in the honeymoon phase with the Lofgrens as I’ve only just got them, but they’re the highest quality of the 3, and I like the pattern the best of the 3. The fit will come over time, but it seems pretty good so far, just needs to loosen up a touch on one foot (they’re CXL so should happen).
The Skoobs are great value, and lovely teacore horsebutt. I wish they’d leather lined the vamp instead of fabric though.
The Wescos are my least favourite, mainly as the fit could be better, they’re a little short in the toe box. Aesthetically they’re much better since I got the sole switched from a wedge.
Took a pic of my 3 pairs of engineers while I was having a tidy up. Wesco, Lofgren and Skoob.
That's a lovely saddle. I think aesthetically it needs a steel frame, fairly minimalist bike to go with it.
I enjoy his videos, and the limited interaction I’ve had with him has been positive. He’s entitled to his opinion in this video, I’m entitled to not agree. I didn’t find it rude or anything though.
On the sizing advice? Absolutely spot on. I took the risk of not getting a brannock device as East West have an excellent returns policy.
Thanks for the advice. I asked Jamie at East West for advice too, as we take the same size in most shoes and he advised me to take the same as my Red Wing size so I bit the bullet and they arrived this morning. Definitely the right size to go for (9d) mostly comfortable immediately, although the outside seam will need to mould to my (larger) right foot a little. Easier to get on than my Skoobs too. I got these in natural CXL so it’ll be interesting to see how they age.
@Brian said in Anyone watching the Tour de France this year?:
Can’t wait for it to start
Always go to each stage of the TDU here as it’s local
The scenery is almost as good as Phil liggets voice
We visited friends in Adelaide a few years back and went out and watched a stage of the TDU that was just south of the city. Beautiful scenery.
On the TDF, we've watched it every year for 15 years or so. Pretty impartial on who wins, but if it's the usual suspects I'd prefer to see Vingegaard win over Pogacar.
One of the best albums of the 90’s and still a firm favourite.
Can anyone provide sizing advice/comparisons on the JL engineer boots?
No idea what my Brannock size would be as the UK doesn’t really use them. For comparison I’m:
US 9 in Red Wing moc toes and Blacksmiths
UK 8 in Cheaney
Uk 8 in Blundstone
UK 8-8.5 in Edward Green
And all my Converse are marked as UK 9
@chrisjohnnick I'm going through the same process. I had 2500 or so, I'm down around 1500 or so now and have either sold or am selling a bunch. If I'm not realistically going to listen to it, off it goes.
