@Kasi Sorry your son had to go through all that. When we went to the US last year the customs was a massive pain in the arse, badly organised, slow and incredibly intrusive, even compared to crossing into the Eastern Block in the 80s/90s.

That looks great, the fit is really good.

Out of all my jackets, I reckon the Flat Head is the best made, it's also the one I'd keep if I was forced to only have one.

@FlavourFade If they do, just get a cover sole added at a local cobbler.

    • RE: Leather jackets

Unless they've seen a lot of use I've never needed to condition my leather jackets. The one I did condition, after over 30 years of ownership I used a neutral Saphir shoe cream which worked a treat.

I've never tried Mustang paste, I'm not even sure they sell it in the UK.

I'd be interested to know the WAF of that shirt, with the trousers.

From a list of (joke) new definitions for words, these two stuck in my mind.

Three shirts for sale, all lovely but either don’t get the wear or I messed the sizing up. Please tell me if I’m wrong on the references. Measurements are on the pictures, let me know if you need any more.

They’ll be on here for a couple of weeks or so before going on eBay. All prices are plus postage and payment would be PayPal F&F or bank transfer. Happy to post internationally but you’ll need to cover tariffs etc.

      IHSH-62IND Wabash size L £180

Washed a couple of times and a little bit of evo, but not much. Was my first IH shirt and I really needed a size smaller.

I go half size down from brannock too, no way they’d be fitting if I went a full size down.

    • RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer

I can see the attraction of a ‘one good thing’ minimalist attitude, but can’t quite do it myself.

I work on the basis that if I’m using it, it stays if I’m not, it goes. And anything I buy has to have purpose and be of a certain quality. Not just clothes, it applies to everything - having an excess bugs me.

I’ve also sold quite a few pairs of shoes and clothes over the past couple of years. Shoes especially, I need a rotation that I wear regularly and are comfortable. Multiple pairs of redundant well made shoes just means none get broken in properly.

To add, that doesn’t mean I don’t own lots of something I’m enthusiastic about, but if I do, everything gets used. Records are a great example of that, they all get played and the ones that don’t go.

    • RE: Watches - another OCD problem

@northsouthdenimguy You're right, vintage is a minefield. And you have to do your own die diligence as the dealers (every one I've seen) either don't know enough, or don't disclose everything.

The black and gold 1680 Sub looks amazing.

Maybe this should be in random rants, but hopefully it’s positive in a few weeks. Had back surgery a few days ago to deal with some sciatica and movement issues. I’m not loving the recovery in the middle of a heatwave. Don’t expect any fit pics for a while either, old shorts and t shirts are the order of the day, in case the dressing leaks.

    • RE: Motorcycles

@bryaneidins70 I’ll post one when I can (just had back surgery so can’t move the bike at the moment).

It’s a slight different setup to yours, I run it with a twin seat and riser bars (not the standard ones, a few inches higher), although I still have the single seat and fairing.

@drey2112 Thank you for your review. and I'm the same as you..modern classic....Truimph Thruxton R and don't want my phone on the bars.

I got a good deal on eBay for a beeline moto (not the 2) and it just arrived. Looks a neat little device..will give it a try later in the week.

      Same bike as me!

I can't help with the nav devices though, I just follow signposts when I'm riding. Getting a bit lost is part of the experience.
