Awesome! Love the Triumph

Getting cold here in the Northeast, broke out the full face

After failing my mod1 test last month I just got a retest date! I have a 125 right now so can practice ready for next Thursday! Any bikers who wanna give advice feel free I really wanna pass this time! Pics of my little beast ( soon to be a triumph if I pass) for attention!
Cheers all!

@BenBWH I have no business giving out advice but do you know where you lost points on your first go round?
-
@WithBongInHand I passed the whole thing until I got to the emergency stop. I treated it like a car estop and dropped the anchors at 55mph. Got a little skid on the back wheel which is an automatic fail here. Our Mod 1 is all manoeuvres at slow speed, figures 8’s, u turn, stuff like that. I’ve been practicing in car parks near me

@BenBWH
Don’t put your foot down.
Watch the front brake, don’t use it while turning, use your rear brake. The clutch is your friend. Be confident, your practice will get you through it. You got this

@Denimhead-0 thanks man!! I’ve been begetting the ride time in atleast a couple hours each day since the last test so hopefully that be enough to get me thru! We’ve got mad storms here at the moment but soon as it’s dry I’ll be back in that car park hitting the manoeuvres again! Much appreciated Jay

Clutch clutch clutch! You’ll be able to ride super slow @BenBWH

@BenBWH I rode a 125 for a couple of years before taking my mod 1, the main thing I wish I'd taken notice of then is using the back brake to stabilise the bike in slow speed manoeuvres. It makes it way easier to do. For the emergency stop remember that most of the braking is done with the front brake, and the more the forks are compressing, the less grip you'll have at the back. Surprised you locked up though, didn't the bike have ABS? They didn't when I learnt, but that was about 15 years back.
-
@BenBWH I think what you don't realise is that you have more distance than what's in your head during the emergency stop. stay calm and don't forget to hit the rear brakes as well
-
@NickD hey man, yeah I’m working on those bits and drag the back brake now! Yeah I locked the wheel up, it was raining pretty heavily plus as I squeezed to front brake and the bike leaned forward I pressed the rear too much. Am feeling more confident for tomorrow!
-
@louisbosco your right there mate, for some reason I treated it more like I was driving a car. Have been practicing so hopefully will pass in the morning
-
Good luck!
-
@BenBWH Good luck Ben! You got this

-
@BenBWH how'd you go mate??
-
@Denimhead-0 got the pass today Jay! 1 minor, put my foot down BEFORE I even made it into the test area!

Nerves were bad man but we got there in the end! -
@louisbosco we got the pass dude! One minor which was committed before I’d even got into the test area (doh!) We’re halfway there now just the last section to pass and I’m golden man! Thanks for asking!
-

Hey all, just wanted to let you all know we got the pass today! 1 minor, put my foot down out of sheer nerves but that was it, zero faults all the way round the rest of the test! Thanks for the advice and support gang! One last test to pass and then I’m fully licensed! Let’s goooo!
