I lost “Cookie” last summer… miss him so much

Really enjoying the Lightweight N1… its still quite warm in Copenhagen, between four and eight degrees most days, a little cooler at night… I find wearing a Northsea clothing Submariner sweater underneath is perfect during these cool, damp days…

The weather in Copenhagen is finally dropping towards zero… really like this N1 in Khaki and just having a thin Cashmere T underneath is fine at temperatures hovering around zero
Up until a couple of years ago, most Royal Navy ships had a “Chinese laundry” I can’t remember serving on one that had a dry cleaning service… and our “ boats” didn’t have a laundry as such
I believe the laundry service is now Nepalese… still no dry cleaning 🫡
I tried on the medium and a large at my local stockist… I am 175cm tall and weigh 74kg. The large was okay with plenty of room for layering, but I have a lightweight version in medium that I can have a Submariner sweater on underneath and this works well. With the khaki I decided the medium was a better fit and tried on three different mediums to find the one with the most comfortable fit across the shoulders and chest, surprisingly quite a lot of difference between the three of the same size…
I were out yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours walking in temperatures just above freezing with just a T-shirt underneath and had to open the jacket for much of the time… I am really liking this jacket
N1 vs Pecoat…
Over the past week or so I have used my N1 everyday… the temperature in Copenhagen hasn’t been above freezing, and on the days with considerable windchill I have found a flaw in the design of the N1. The front zipper/placket has zero insulation. Compared with the Peacoat and its overlapping double layer the N1 is nowhere near as insulating… I have even tried my Lightweight N1 with a thin merino/cashmere baselayer and Submariner sweater which actually keeps me warmer…
Anyone else have similar experiences ?
