RE: IH-777-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Blackposted in Bottoms
@bilos2511 The 21oz denim is much more supple and breathable than the 25 XHSib, which is thick and crunchy and not particularly breathable. I usually put away my 25 XHSib for the warmer months, but my 21 oz I wear throughout the year. I find them even more breathable and more comfortable on warmer days than my 14 oz bb.

Same here! I keep checking every Re-loved restock to see if there's one on offer... so far no luck.

@meatmarketdenim1 Merry Christmas, man! What with the anticipated shrinkage, I agree the L is the right choice. Going to look great!

RE: IH-555-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Jeans - Indigoposted in Bottoms
@Carlito if you want to get all the shrinkage out you could try a hotter wash, like 40 degrees C. However, the waist will inevitably stretch back out again... There's really only one way to find out if it's going to work or not and that's wearing them a lot.
If it's any help, I wear the same size as you in the 5
55XHSib, and I didn't have a hard time breaking in my pair either after the initial soak. And I'm still happy with my fit.For reference, here's what mine looked like on day 1:

@Carlito that looks like a great fit to me. Congrats!
If you machine-washed for an hour at 30 degrees, you'll have taken out a good part of the shrinkage. A second and third wash may lead to some extra shrinkage, especially if you use a higher temperature, but nothing spectacular I'd say.
When you wear them, the waist will stretch back to roughly pre-soak measurements.
What exactly are you concerned about? That they'll stretch back too much or not enough?

@Aetas thanks! Glad to hear others enjoy this too!

RE: The Evolution of Iron Heartposted in Sustainability at Iron Heart
@Mizmazzle thanks! The jeans get about a 100-125 wears per year and the flannel shirt about 25. Less sure about the jacket, but probably somewhere between 50 and 100.

Thanks @JunkPants @goosehd! Hope to post another update again next year.
@jerkules yeah I think I have high metabolism? My size in clothes hasn't really changed since I was 17 or so...

Sadly, it's not just the clothes that are fading...

@Hohba01 I just remembered Forum Legend @Filthy2123ozjunkie Mike shrank a blanket-lined CPO some years ago. See here and scroll for a little bit more: https://forum.ironheart.co.uk//post/640828
Makes for some fascinating reading. Important to note that he did it to an 8 oz blanket-lined denim. This one's a lot heavier.

I'm not a regular here but I was pleased with this one here:

Hiking in the southernmost tip of Norway, wearing the 247-IND and the 101J, on and off.

@northsouthdenimguy that's a really nice colorway too!

@americanathreads Yes I did. For the hickory shirt I had to cough up just over 50 euros on customs duties. Annoying but inevitable...

@CosmoSix5 I think it was mentioned here recently that this is one is only for the international market and not released in Japan. But somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
