Thanks for the updates Giles and Graham. I am really looking forward to this one! This is currently at the top of my "want" list.

RE: IHSH-398-CAM - 11oz Corduroy Western Shirt - Camel
I’m a few days late with this review, but I managed to snag the last XXL at Burg Und Schild, and I’m really happy with it. Burg Und Schild got it shipped out fast, and it arrived safely in the USA a few days later. The fit is a little different on this one; the body is cut a little larger in circumference, but the shoulders, arms, and chest fit like a typical XXL. I didn’t want to size down because of arm length and circumference, and it’s a good thing I stayed with my normal size.
The arms are perfect in length and width, and the shoulders fit well also. In a perfect world, the body would be an inch or so narrower, but somehow the fabric drapes in a way that keeps it from looking too big. The fabric is also very easy to wear in spite of its weight, and I don’t find it restrictive at all. It’s a keeper for sure!
There were two must haves in this release - the Orange UHF and this camel Corduroy. I feel fortunate to have snagged both.

@Giles I sent you a PM in the hopes that you can grab one for me in Japan. Fingers crossed.

RE: IHSH-398-CAM - 11oz Corduroy Western Shirt - Camel
@Ross do you know if these will be restocked this season? I was busy this morning and apparently missed out.
Also, can anyone speak to the sizing and fit on this shirt? It appears to have sewn up a bit wider in the chest and body than my typical UHF size (XXL). Would it make sense to size down to an XL, or would the arms be too narrow if I do so?

RE: IHSH-399-ORA - 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel Check Western Shirt - Orange
@Alex I can imagine it was frustrating, but it sounds like most of us got our sizes and are happy? I'd say all's well that ends well. Your team is such a class act, and your customer service is genuinely unparalleled. I don't say that lightly.
I just scored an XXL and I'm really looking forward to it! This was the one "must have" item for me this fall, and then maybe that brown corduroy shirt......

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
I just bought a stunning IHSH-100 from @Oaktavia. Not only was he a pleasure to deal with but he shipped fast and the shirt was flawless. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone here.

RE: IH-101J-SR - 18oz Selvedge Denim Storm Rider Jacket - Indigo
I wasn't aware of this restock either - congrats on the scores. Out of curiosity, were there any changes to the pattern for this run, or are they essentially the same as the original version from a few years ago? The measurement chart looks about the same, but I didn't have it committed to memory.

RE: End of Season Sale - 15% off - June 21st to June 24th
@Alex that's really cool to see the stats, thanks for sharing. I thought really hard about that IHSH-295-IB, but I've had too many other things going on right now, so I had to limit it to just the one jacket. I'll have to grab one in the future!

RE: End of Season Sale - 15% off - June 21st to June 24th
@Luijim78 my wife is generally pretty understanding with my hobbies, but two arriving at once when I’m not home to defend myself may raise her eyebrows a bit.
I actually plan on letting go of a IH-526J-22 in XL that I’ve, um, “outgrown” to offset the purchase, but there won’t be much market for heavy jackets until the weather cools off again. So yeah, I’ve got a little ‘splainin to do.

RE: End of Season Sale - 15% off - June 21st to June 24th
Well my purchase was definitely premeditated…. No second degree shopping here. I wrote customer service a few days prior to confirm the measurements on a IH-2526J and set an alarm for the opening minutes.
My new duck canvas type iii should be here tomorrow, but it is coincidentally arriving at the same time as a Stratocaster neck I bought for a guitar project. If I don’t log in for a few weeks, show this post to the police - my wife may not let me live.
First degree shopping may lead to second degree murder….

RE: IHSH-398-CAM - 11oz Corduroy Western Shirt - Camel
As to the topic at hand, this is probably the other "must have" shirt for me this year. I was unsure about the with of the wale on the corduroy at first, but I think the extra weight and the softness will make this feel wonderful to wear. The color is perfect, not too dark ,but not to light, and with lots of character.
This F/W is a great looking release, and there are probably four items that look great to me, with two of them being "must haves". The IH team should be really proud, there are lots of interesting and unexpected items.

@jimmer_5 I’d say it was more about texture than hairiness - not the world’s best pictures but my party shirt from last year might give you an idea. https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum//post/797455
Also worth checking out the 369 and 375 threads.
That photo you shared is worth 1000 words. Thank you! I'm even more excited for this shirt now. The texture really makes it something special, and somehow it perfectly matches the pattern. Like the vintage seat cloth in an old car or Airstream from the 70s.
@Tago-Mago said in IHSH-399-ORA - 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel Check Western Shirt - Orange:
@jimmer_5 this is from the IH Germany party shirt @ARNC mentioned:
"Slubby Heavy Flannel (SHF) is new to Iron Heart and is constructed from 12oz slub yarn cotton. Compared to the Ultra Heavy Flannel (UHF), it has the same weight, but a more pronounced texture and uneven hand, leading to a slightly more rugged exterior. The weft is still double-brushed to ensure the flannel is very soft and comfortable."
See also IHSH-369
FWIW I love the texture of the party shirt, gives the shirt great character
I agree, the texture really tops this one off nicely. Thanks so much for the explanation and the link.

RE: IHSH-399-ORA - 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel Check Western Shirt - Orange
Wow! This is the one "must buy" fall item for me (although I'm thinking real hard on the camel corduroy shirt and the Chalk Stripe UHF). This one perfectly bridges the vintage look with a crazy check. I love the orange and I'm going to make it work regardless of my pasty complexion.
The one thing I don't totally grasp is the "slubby flannel" thing - it's the same weight as a UHF, but more fuzzy/hairy on the outside? Not a dealbreaker, I'm just curious.

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
All, the same can be said for @misfitlife - very easy to work with, prompt payment, and great communications. Thanks!

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
@Jamesthejimbob was also fantastic to deal with - very easygoing and understanding about my lack of experience with international shipping. I'd recommend doing business with him anytime.

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
I just finished a purchase from @voodootomato and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly. He was easy to deal with, kept in touch throughout the process, shipped quickly, and the jacket was exactly as described. You can feel safe doing business with him - thanks Jean!

RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)
I should also add a positive reference for @christoph - great communication and prompt payment. Thanks again!

RE: Ship John
@popvulture said in Ship John:
Received the jacket, and gotta say it's pretty wild how heavy duty it is. When I picked up the box on my porch I was like goddamn, this thing is a chonk.
Initial impressions: size L is good, almost a little big but I'm only wearing a tee at the moment. Nice to know I've got plenty of room for wearing a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. Getting a long seems like the right move — the sleeves are a bit long for my taste, but per responses to my previous query in this thread, that should shrink up as some creases start to form at the elbows. It feels like it's got so much wax in it, it's almost damp. I know that'll diminish, too.
Will post some pics at some point. Nice to have it arrive right when TX is getting hot, hehe.
How did you chose to size yours again? TTS or down?
I can speak to this as well. I have owned three Wills Jackets and enough Iron Heart jackets to compare. In typical American shirts, jackets and T-Shirts I am generally a Large sometimes an XL. 42-43" chest depending on my current weight and how trim the fit is.
-
In normal long sleeve IH shirts (denim, serge, chambray) I can wear an XL, but for some I size up to XXL, generally because the sleeves are too narrow / small in circumference.
-
In UHFs I need a XXL and sometimes I can get away with a XXXL. XXL is generally my Goldilocks fit for UHFs though.
-
In IH type 3's, I can wear an XL, but it's a very close fit buttoned up - I'm probably better suited to an XXL in a 526J or 526PJ. In the N1 Deck jacket, an XL is perfection.
-
In Ship John shirts, I am between sizes. Large is too small, XL is great in the shoulders and arms, but too big in the body. Be warned, these are NOT one washed like IH, so washing them you can experience shrinkage. Compared to Iron Heart shirts, Ship John are shorter in the arms and longer in the body.
-
For the Wills Jacket, I wear an XL. Much like some IH items, the heavy fabric makes the Wills jacket feel smaller than it is, and it doesn't give or stretch much. I need the XL for the sleeve circumference, and the body is boxy enough to leave room for a layer underneath. I have found that my perfect Wills layering is a UHF and a Cotopaxi Fuego Puffer Vest. I don't have enough room in the arms for a second layer, so the vest adds extra warmth on cold days without trying to force puffy sleeves into the arms.

RE: How Do I Post A Photo or Upload An Image
Alex, these are just images that I took with my Samsung Galaxy S21 and transferred from the phone to my PC. Sorry to turn this into an investigation!
Regardless, I hope my previous post is helpful if anyone else has trouble with images.
