@Aetas I’m just lucky for the age difference between my 3. Triplets must be another level!

RE: Parentingposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
Thing that I never realised about having 3 kids: increasing the number of kids has a dramatic impact on the vectors for chaos. 2 kids is simple, A vs B. Self contained and manageable.
But with 3 you’ve got a full-blown geopolitical landscape. Any argument can originate from any child, bounce unpredictably to another, and then somehow involve the third even if they were in a different room minding their own business. Alliances form and collapse in real time. I swear 90% of my time feels like mediating peace talks with 3 rogue nations who shared borders, bathrooms, and whose leaders have zero sense of proportion.

RE: Parentingposted in Hobbies and Pastimes
My eldest daughter was an incredibly fussy eater when she was little. For a while, we thought we must have done something wrong, not offered her the right foods or preserved, until my son came along and happily demolished any food in his path. That’s when we realised it’s down to the child, not the parent.
Now my youngest daughter is following in her big sister’s footsteps and is also quite fussy. But since my eldest eventually grew out of it, I’m hopeful that if we keep offering her different foods, she’ll eventually give them a try too. -

Damn I was thinking I could make this, then remembered it’s my son’s birthday.

RE: IH-526Lod - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo Overdyed Blackposted in Jackets
@meatmarketdenim1 thanks man - I haven’t kept count but it gets worn mostly in spring/autumn - or less cold winter days. To be honest, I wouldn’t say I’ve worn it particularly hard in the last couple of years, so I’m surprised how evolved it’s looking! The wash definitely brought out more silver tones

First wash definitely brought out some character in my 2 year old jacket.

@NickD yeah definitely. It’s the same fabric as the white tee I posted above - I believe it’s 11.5oz so pretty hefty!

RE: Jackmanposted in Other Brands and Shops

This is their Dotsume Rib tee, which I really dig. It’s either a bit shorter in the body, or the ribbing causes it to sit slightly higher. Sleeves also flare a bit less due to the ribbing.

@jdwaid good shout on a longsleeve, will definitely grab some in the future. Their sweatshirts look great too. If I wasn’t set for beanies I’d like to try one, but I got like 8 lying around…

@SKT looove them, easiest wearing pair I’ve ever owned. Fades coming in slowly but with a really cool vertical character on the thighs.

RE: Jackmanposted in Other Brands and Shops
@NickD nice one! I wonder if this is the same fabric as the "lead-off" tee shirts. Looking online at a pocket-tee it says that it's air-spun cotton made of different lengths, which matches the lead-off fabric description. I've found it a touch difficult to get detailed info online on the differences between Jackman's fabric options - hence why I'm interested in hearing how others have found them on this forum.

Whiskers starting to look cool on my pair.

Might not be to everyone’s taste (I know lots prefer a trimmer fit) but this is my ideal t shirt shape (hides the beer belly reasonably well). Hopefully shows off the texture of the material as well - closest material I can think of is the heavyweight Merz fabric used in their 2S14 shirts.

Anyone else into Jackman?
On my hunt for my perfect heavyweight t-shirt, the Jackman "Dotsume" knit tee has become my favourite by some margin. After trying one, I've gone and bought a few other Dotsume shirts given how much I loved the first. The reasons I love it:
- the fit is relaxed and modern without being sloppy (quite similar to the IH 7.5o\ tees, my favourite IH tee fit)
- the loopwheeled fabric is really dense, heavy (11.5oz) and intensely textured.
- the collar is nice and thick and good tightness to neck.
- fabric is very stable to washing/drying (please pay attention merz....)
- sleeves are quite long and not too tight (please pay attention 3Sixteen...)
- all round excellent stitching.
The only "downside" is that despite being loopwheeled fabric, the shirts have side seems; not a dealbreaker for me, and I'd favour a flattering fit achieved through inclusion of side seams more than I would an unbroken tube of material all for the sake of not having seams.
The company has a cool history (https://www.jackman.jp/shop/pages/about.aspx) and seem to have settled at a nice intersection of tradition while trying innovative things with their fabrics. Nice videos on the site too.
I'm interested in trying more of their products outside of the Dotsume heavy knits, and looking at both their Grace (they process the material to remove the fuzz, apparently leaving a cooling silk0like feel despite the dense fabric) and their Lead-Off tees (air-spun cotton of varying thread size which apparently yields a crisp, rougher texture).
Does anyone else own Jackman stuff?
