@Jett129 It's all water under the bridge to me at this point. I pulled out the sewing machine and realigned the pocket to what is ideal for me.

I was surprised something that far out of alignment would be within spec for such a premium product that's known for quality and detail.

When it's something that sells out so quickly, it's just unsatisfying to a lucky customer that managed to snag one for the official reseller response to be: if you don't like it, return it.

I know any differing opinion on forums can come off like Team A vs Team B, but this isn't that for me, just a minor inconvenience. It was a reminder that I should always be careful with any purchase sight unseen.

This was a nice opportunity to "make it mine" anyway, and I frequently customize my gear when I get them in one way or another.

Enjoy the day. It's just a shirt and a great looking one at that. Nothing to stress too much about.

BTW, If the alignment bothers anyone else, you can take it to a tailor and they should be able to fix it for you pretty quickly. It's best to do it sooner than later before any fading starts.

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and newish (as of a year or so) to IH. Having a great time so far. I just picked up a 427 and decided to bust out the sewing machine and make mine a little more special. Do many others customize their pieces?

@jmp777 Yah, no prob. Here's the output and another zoomed in shot where you can see that I added a little pin slot for a pen that I carry. As well as sealing up the inside pocket bag, adding another 2 book pockets in the inside. I plan to add a little eyeglass pouch. Time permitting, I'll knock that out this weekend.

I'm an amateur, so you can see where I kind of rubbed the fade off a little bit when working with the material, but good enough for me. A pro should be able to knock this out Invisibly.

@hugothecowboy I have the same issue with my L. I sort of feel the same way. I’m torn because otherwise the shirt is gorgeous. I don’t wanna send it back and have nothing but for the price I would want for it to be as good as my other Iron Heart gear. I contacted support so hopefully they’ll think of a good solution for everyone. It sounds like there’s a misaligned template somewhere in the production line.

I heard back from support, they effectively and politely said If you're not happy, you can return it.

Obviously, It's a very popular item, so I understand how they (IH UK) could take that approach. A little surprising for such a premium product, to be honest, but I think I'll live with it. Otherwise, it is a gorgeous shirt.

Hopefully, we all can put this whole Pocket Gate topic to rest now. Future buyers beware. I'm tempted to bust out the seam ripper and align it myself, but... Risky, risky.

@stenaloom For my two of my CPO’s I sewed in inner pockets by following the bottom line of the pocket bag. Works great, and not super visible.

@moskiitto No, not at all. It's just a single line of thread. I use a similar color to the original fabric so it's not a "loud" modification.
