  • RE: Where does everyone live?

@Goosetown I have not worn any IH outerwear for skiing. I do prefer outerwear that has been engineered and designed for the specifics of skiing/snowboarding (breathability, mobility, venting, hoods large enough for helmets, waterproofing, powder skirt, down, etc..)
Weather permmiting, it should be fine. Bear in mind, if it isn't sunny while you are here, it will be quite cold at this altitude. If the sun is out, 15F will feel like 40F.

You will definitely look good rocking it!

@Matt I pull a 21ft travel trailer with a 2019 Tacoma TRD OR. The towing capacity is 6800 lbs. Pulls it fully loaded just fine…BUT the transmission will drive you nuts. It bounces between gears like nothing I have ever driven.

  • RE: What's your favourite wine?

    @Heavy_blue
Not really a wine drinker, but my better half recently forced me to drink it in Montepulciano. Let’s just say wine and I found some common ground. And some shakey ground….Apparantly Montepulciano wine is good enough for her to ship 24 bottles back to Colorado!

  • RE: Your Top 5

@mclaincausey @natehate The "real" show I ever attended was Fugazi in Milwaukee in 93'. Before that it was just local punk rock bands.

I just turned 15 and unwisely "borrowed" my parents car, filled it with friends and saw Fugazi and Lungfish. It truly changed the course of who I was to become. That sounds a bit cheesy, but it is true. I had the fortune of seeing Fugazi a few other times, but nothing ever compared to that first one.

Lucero- I have probably seen Lucero more than any other band. They used to headline or open for what seemed to be every band that I wanted to see throught the early 2000's. I grew to love them. There last time they were at Red Rocks was my welcome back to music from the covid restrictions. It was special, as I forgot how powerful live music was for my soul after going without for sooo long. But it is true, they aren't nearly as rowdy as they were. Grown ups....pfft..

I should probably rank my Top 5 shows at some point. That first Fugazi show would have to be in there, but that is a tough other 4.....

  • RE: Neph out of action again… and for a bit longer this time.

I am a bit new on this forum, and @neph93 , you were the one to make me feel welcome.  I haven't had a lot of interaction with you, but I have a ton of admiration for anyone that puts a spotlight on mental health, prioritizes mental health, and shows vulnerability in the face of of it.

These are tough conversation and topics and we need more people to speak up and make it OK to not be OK.  Thank you Neph, your courage will lead to better days and lead others to find their own courage.

  • RE: IHWE-GLMN-BLK - Iron Heart Int'l x Wesco® - 7" Domain Toe Cap Boot - Black Tie. The "Guildsman"

    Hi All,

These boots are exactly what I would build from Wesco, although I might consider a diferent sole due to the climate I live in.  I've been lusting over them for quite some time, they look unbelievable.  Should have just pulled the trigger months ago.

There is a 9.5 still available.  I know this has been beaten to death, but I have never had the opportunity to try on a pair of Wescos.  I wear a 9.5D in Red Wing Iron Rangers, 10.5 in Danner Mountain Light with aftermarket hiking footbeds, and 10.5 in Vans.  It seems from what I've been reading is that they fit similar to an Iron Ranger sizing?  Without any other option than a 9.5 available, I need to make sure I nail the sizing.

Anybody with these boots have input for an informed purchase?!?!

    Thanks!

    Edit; answer found.

I saw your speedy earlier in the thread and haven’t been able to stop thinking about how fun it would be to build my own ideal speedmaster.  Lots of super cool pieces on here, but this one of a kind beauty has stuck with me.

@Dmart  As it turns out, I will be in your beautiful area in February.  We will be skiing Andermatt for a few days (along with a few other places).  I haven't been to Switzerland in 20 years and couldn't be more excited!

@nrtphotos  Haha!  I love it.  It might get a few double takes by purists…

I recently came accross a gentleman who was attempting to replace the the movement of his moonswatch with an actual 1861 movement from his damaged moonwatch.  He caught hell for it, but I think it should be celebrated.  To each their own!

  • RE: How many jeans/ pants in your rotation??

Current rotation, usually at least once every couple of weeks for each.

    633s SBG 21oz
    633s 21oz
    633n 17oz
    633od 18oz
    Grease Point Work Jean 15oz

I guess I really enjoy the 633 cut from Selfedge.  The 18oz OD's need to be repaired, but will re-enter the rotation shortly.  Otherwise, the SBG have been seen the most action as of late.  I really need to get on the XHS train, but I keep missing out on the 633 size 34.

  • RE: Where does everyone live?

@mclaincausey It's easy to complain about the tourism and the frustrations it presents.  From time to time I need to remind myself that the tourism and the money that comes with it is why I have been able to live here for the last 20 years.  It's truly a gift that we take for granted.  I was once a tourist here too!  As you understand, we are all still tourists at some point in this great state.

Understanding the nuances of a tourist destination also has allowed me to be a better and more thoughtful traveler….  🙂
