Going out to my big event this coming holiday weekend to get my Level 3 certification with this monstrosity. And surprisingly for this time of year, it will be cool enough for me to wear my 21oz triple 6's to keep them fadez movin along. Will update with some fade photoas after the flight. Wish me luck!

Quick work trip to Los Angeles, went and paid a visit to the folks at Self Edge! They were extraordinarily kind, so I ruthlessly demanded a selfie, as one does.

This photo isn't from today, but I spent a good portion of my evening working on this piece of madness. Level 3 High Power Rocketry certification flight is in september and there is a lot of construction/planning/testing still to go.

Weird update...I shortly after I posted the failure of this, I received a text message that a farmer had found my rocket. I went and recovered it, and the onboard footage had survived as well. No certification, but she lives to fly another day as there was NO damage despite falling to earth a 80 feet per second. Enjoy the cool onboard video!

Quick work trip to San Francisco. Realized just in time that there is a Self Edge close by and brought 2 pairs of 25oz to drop off and get hemmed. And of course had to get a selfie with the crew.

Finally picked this up this year. It's a murphy lab R0, but I got a really good deal on it (around $3000.00 USD) from my local guitar center. First thing I did when I got it home was took some sandpaper to the back of the neck to make it feel more like a natural maple neck. Then swapped out the volume and tone knobs since I much prefer the gold top-hat look of the 59's. The pickups, however, in these historic re-issues are lots of fun...perhaps a little too much fun for my neighbors.......or my wife..

Hello everyone! My name is Chris, and I live in Oklahoma. I work for the U.S. Government (Radar, not FBI, settle down) and have been really focused on replacing my clothing with fewer, nicer things over the years. We generally don't have any high-quality clothing stores here, so my addiction sort of began when I got a hold of some nice Diesel jeans from Dallas, TX around 2010. They fit me perfectly. I then had them hemmed to the proper length and an addict was born. Bought my first pair of raw's in 2018 and have been looking for a cut I like ever since. I bought my first pair of IH's just at the beginning of 2025 (777-slb) and am currently lusting after a pair of 461's or...dare I say...463's if they do in fact revive them. I've been poking around the forum for the last couple of weeks, and I can tell it is a very friendly, very tight-knit (see what I did there?) community. I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing in fade and travel journeys alike.

@Twistlock not to my knowledge. I am, however, going to try and get some onboard video. If im successfull I'll post a link here. Will post any other footage of the event here as well.

Sorry for the late update. I don't imagine its uncommon to reluctantly broadcast our own failures. I had my Level 3 Certification attempt over the holiday weekend at the end of August. Everything went beautifully until it didnt.
The rocket punched a cloud and I lost visual on it with the binoculars. So I immediately shrugged it off, since I had onboard GPS tracking.
When I checked the GPS on my laptop, I had nothing. ZERO. Like it didn't exist. Long story short, the flight was the last I saw of it.

@mclaincausey I'm of the opinion that if you love scotch broadly, Lagavulin 16 is part of the "core collection" that everyone has a bottle, and replaces said bottle when it run out lol.

Very excited to see some rumblings about the 463 cut. I will happily snatch a few pairs if they come available outside of Japan.

Scored these a little over a week ago on the RE:LOVE drop for a killer price. Only my 2nd and 3rd ever pair from Iron Heart. I can see why people say rock one, stock one. With 3 pairs total though, I feel like I'll be in denim prison for a while trying to get some good fades haha.

Thanks for the quick response @Giles, may have to get with Alex and see whether or not I could special order a 461 from Japan. From all the measurements I have taken of my best fitting pairs of bootcut jeans, these look like the grail cut for me.

@V-P according to @Alex the material is in production with no ETD yet.

Who did you guys reach out to for a pair? Would like to get a pair as well.
