Went to the theater to see Mando & lil G, no cap m sitting back with some grass and the new BoC. Pretty solid night.

Listened to the new Kurt Vile and the new feeble little horses. The former sounded like Kurt Vile. The latter was very promising. I’m very excited to listen to it some more.

I only listened to it once, it wasn’t bad. He’s playing here at a small club but the ticket was $60 so I’m skipping it.

My first job during (which is why I only just scraped a BSc Econ) and after university was running a design and print shop in Mayfair, London. I was young and impressionable and the head of the design department was, to me, the coolest thing that had ever lived. He listened to Joy Division a lot, so guess what, so did I

Weather permitting, Paula and I are taking SAKURA down to Dartmouth in a couple of weeks to visit friends who have their boat moored in Noss on Dart Marina, in the next berth but one to them is Bernard Sumners boat.

So I am playing these and reconnecting with my youth.

It was a great era for music…the Smiths, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, and plenty more that will come to mind in a few. Have fun!!

It is good, still growing on me. But I have to say that I’m still not really feeling the robo voice and (imho, excessive) vocal sampling. I prefer more instrumental tracks with sparse vocal sampling.
But I love these guys nonetheless and am stoked to have a new album after 13 years.

These new Mike D solo songs have me very excited for a potential album or tour with his kids band.

We let the kids make our recent roadtrip playlist and it was nuts in a good way. The Kinks, Fountains of Wayne, Disney’s Descendants Soundtrack, Wilco, sombr, The Beach Boys, The Cure, Phoebe Bridgers, The Clash, Vampire Weekend, Olivia Rodrigo, Old 97’s. My proudest moment… Descendants soundtrack notwithstanding (and lots of newer acts whose names I can’t remember)

Second leg of the trip home took an 80’s turn but stayed eclectic. Queen, G’nR, Panda Bear, Billy Joel, K-Pop, Geese, Hall & Oats, Soccer Mommy, Tommy James and the Shondells…it was a wild ride.
