@Bridger he just announced another tour with them this morning. I started following him when it was just the big band stuff. A wild change in style but nothing wrong with that!

Had the good fortune to have met Mitch Mitchell, and the misfortune to have met Ginger Baker.

Fantastic, @Jett129. Tell us more - where were you and what were they like?

@Bridger Someone had stolen my snare drum,my mother lent me $90 to buy a new one. I went with a friend to the legendary Manny’s music store in NYC,and as we’re walking up to the drum counter my friend sees Mitch Mitchell and points him out to me. I go over say hi and strike up a conversation…What was he getting, what would he be doing in the future? He couldn’t have been nicer ,more personable. After he had left the salesman brings me my new snare drum, and in my excitement at meeting Mitch Mitchell,I put the $90 down on the counter and someone took it. Borrowed another $90 from my girlfriend and went back again the next day and bought the drum, which I still have. My brother was working as a stage hand at an outdoor venue in NYC,and Ginger Baker’s Airforce was the headliner. I was back stage and watched him do this absolutely mind boggling drum solo that was so intense that at one point his shirt split open in the back. After the show I saw him walking around backstage. I got a pen and a piece of paper, and went up to him and said that was the most amazing drumming I had ever seen, could I have your autograph? To which he replied…Fuck Off Man it’s not cool, turned his back and walked away from me. Prior to his death I was known to say…If he was on fire,I wouldn’t piss to put him out. I’ve never seen the documentary about him but apparently there are lots of stories like that about him.

                    Great stories @Jett129.

They reflect the characters for sure.

Mitch is one of my favourite players and deserves more recognition. I don't know if it is true but apparently he taught Larry Mullen Jnr how to play around the beat.

@Bridger Mitch Mitchell one of my all time favorites as well. Saw him three times with Jimi Hendrix. Love the drum intro he did on Little Wing.

@scooter I really hope they come out with something, but I’ll believe it when I see it. I appreciate that the material they publish is good, but the wait between albums is eternal (at least it seems that way).

                                Fingers crossed 🤞

@goosehd , I've always been rather indifferent to the amount of time artists take to bring forth material. Who am I to question their process ?

What interests me more is the residency at the Sphere. It's something I'd like to experience, and Tool is just the band to get me there.
