Ninjaman is my favorite dancehall DJ, pure badness. Too bad he always gets involved in degenerate crack induced behavior and ends up in jail… Anyway, here is one of his most potent tracks, "Pastor" with the lyrics for those who are interested in improving their creole patois skills!

So one of my hobbies is trying to learn to play decent jazz guitar.
I like Wes Montgomery (a lot, especially his record with Nat Adderley or with Wynton Kelly), Jim Hall, René Thomas etc etc.
I just started to play Mr. Sandman by Chet Atkins.
This one is killing my hands but damn making progress is good. This piece is so nice!

Kashmir is awesome Giles, both tunes are a great demonstration of that man John Bonham.

I think its generally accepted that , although a guitar god, Page has basically plundered old bluesmens' riffs for all his best tunes.

Plant and JPJ have their own place in Rock history.

But I have never heard, or seen, someone beat the living sh*t out of a drumkit like Bonham. FFS, he doesn't even use sticks on Moby Dick.

I am in Tokyo with Sly & Robbie and they're going to perform starting tomorrow with pianist Monty Alexander and guitarist Ernest Ranglin at the Cotton Club and then the Blue Note. Here is a couple of videos I shot yesterday and today, which I hope will give you an idea of the general vibe.

tonight, they're doing a TV show on NHK. 25 million lucky Japanese will watch this. Wicked.

Monty Alexander + Ernest Ranglin + Sly & Robbie - Live in Japan

Last night we played 2 shows at Blue Note in Tokyo after two nights at the Cotton Club.

For the second show of the evening they went over curfew by about 25 minutes, because the contractual 1 hour 10 minutes format is not for them…

Here is the playlist. I'll upload a song or two on sound cloud in a minute: Monty's Groove lasted an unbelievable 16 minutes 46 seconds, segueing into the Bam Bam riddim for a while.

Japanese fans are unfreaking believable. They are so respectful, knowledgeable and none of them is like a d+ckhead walking Reggaeskarocksteadymentodancehall encyclopedia, which can get so tedious in Europe... They are so quiet in their enjoyment, it is endearing. Boy, I love this great people and this fantastic country.

In any case, here is a link to soundcloud

and here is the complete setlist they did for this truly magical show

                                      Drum Song
                                      Fatty Fatty
