My girlfriend and I used to own a record store before the whole digital thing took over, now we just sell on discogs. I have about 6,000 records in my basement and about 2,000 in my own collection. Buying vinyl can get out of control pretty easy.

I hear you.  Assume you built those shelves yourself?  I went from ~7500 to ~800 these days.  Moving every year or two tends to make you want to get rid of stuff.

Built the shelves myself, 2x4s and 3/4" ply, straight utility shelving nothing pretty. I have a hard time getting rid of my personal records. I still have the first record I ever bought in Philadelphia when I was 15 - "inner city life" by Goldie.
