Had a pair. Interesting leather- looks kinda like a textured suede, but a lot more durable.

I was looking to see if I had been near Medellín but my google timeline doesn't go back that far. They used to give me a different mobile phone way back when. I don't remember for sure, but I remember being in the jungle sort of in that area. I know they told me it was extremely dangerous there, and I also got bit on the hand by a wild dog trying to feed it on that job. There were times when we'd be driving and they would tell me to duck down so we didn't get hassled by the military at check points.
I don't remember there being any hippos.

Not super thick; I'd say similar to a heavier cowhide. It is pretty tough, though. Relatively soft- the boots broke in fairly quickly. Every once in a while I think about getting another pair.

Thought I’d share some info on a wild tropical fruit which is very tasty but not widely known. It is abundant in the area I spent this weekend. The local name is GUAPURU and it looks like this on the plant
Looks similar to a grape, juicy inside, sweet and very fragrant. The blacker, the sweeter… Easy to pick as the plants are rarely higher than 4 meters and it clings to the main branches. This bee is the local pollinator and he moves quickly so I couldn’t get a sharper image with my phone.
The ones I found were smallish but they get quite larger during rainier years.

My boss has been teaching his kids about the stock market and gave each of them $100 to invest back in October.. his teenager bought the game stop stock when it was on the way up and turned his 100 bucks into 1000…
second part of the lesson was know when to sell lol - I think it his his sell price today and the kid learned a vital lesson... the world is run by stock brokers - AND kids on the internet
