I saw a guy at a bar snorting it. Apparently, it's much more effective that way, lol!

Yes, Swedish Snus is technically “spit free,” and the American tobacco companies have really taken this on with their spit free pouches - however, the few times I have tried traditional Swedish Snus, I would not swallow it… to each their own tho.

Culturally, it is quite different than cigarettes or cigars. Some people view the use of smokeless tobacco as “gross” or “uncivilized,” but some cultures view it as a less intrusive use of tobacco therefore making it more acceptable.

The snorting stuff is referred to as “Scotch Snuff” - and is quite weird...

@Appfaff is on the mark. It’s immensely popular and socially acceptable. You even see professional athletes using it. Although no one swallows Swedish snus. Also if you snorted snus you’d end up with a bad case of sinusitis. It would just stick in your nose.

The hardcore OG stuff is shredded tobacco mixed with salt and water. You make a little cake and stick it under your lip. It runs and will stain your teeth and is messy. I started on it about 17 years ago.

It’s been sanitised now though and comes in filter bags. You can also get “white” snus where the tobacco is treated so it doesn’t stain or run.

There’s been a lot of controversy about health effects and labelling. The big independent meta-studies have concluded that it doesn’t cause cancer, so in effect people using it instead of cigarettes is actually good for the public health. It does contain a lot of nicotine though so it’s highly addictive and stresses your ticker.

Snuff is tobacco as a very fine, dry powder. Delivers quite the kick if that’s your thing.

                  So, good news:
After selling our house last year to begin the search for something more accommodating to our growing family and temporarily downsizing to an apartment while we were house hunting, we are closing the deal on what is essentially our dream home. Me, wife, and kids are all over the moon.  😉

                  Bad news:
And this seriously was the first thing that came into my mind as a major drawback of pulling the trigger on our dream home…it’s gonna take a bite out of my annual IH budget  😢

Thanks Reuben! We are very excited in terms of the opportunities for the kids and having a place for the family to grow.

Luckily, my current wardrobe is not lacking in terms of IH gear…but my F/W “must haves” just got a lot my selective  😃
