Personally I don’t prefer them, but I do enjoy my 179 being a little different. It’s good to have an alternative to westerns and work shirts.
I just realized the remaining half is on the back. For whatever reason I thought it was the front (and I have the IHSH 13). lol. Thank you for the input.

when I was in college I went back to Japan for my 'study abroad' program, even though I had lived there previously. anyway, my roommate was this kid from Hokkaido who never looked me in the eye when I spoke to him. He stood sideways and talked to me while looking at me from the corner of his eye. when my mom came to visit me she was introduced to my roommate….needless to say, she thought he was a shady sonofab*tch

eye contact, or the lack thereof, doesn't bother me that much. I think, too, it depends on the situation. If you're in a casual setting then it's not that big a deal, but in a business setting it can come off as disrespectful if the person you're talking to isn't engaged in the conversation and not looking at you imho. It's similar when you're talking to children. My son, who is 4.5 yo, yells at me if he doesn't have my undivided attention, so I try to make an effort to be engaged and listen to him when he speaks.
Likewise with handshakes. Here in the US, a firm handshake is customary when meeting someone for the first time. But sometimes guys will squeeze the sh*t out of your hands like it's a competition. Firm is good but limp-wristed is not

Well said. In my line of work eye contact is a must (serving/bartending) and I am unnerved by it at times. Here in the states the amount of eye contact varies from situation to situation. But I do notice that when talking with Northern Europeans. Swedes, Norwegians etc there is an intensity in the eye contact. And I always look away… can’t hack it
