This thread (and the 461S) are seriously under-appreciated so here's a fit pic to get things going.

These are my go to jeans for work - super comfortable and much loved.  Hope this helps with your decision making Davito.

Question on sizing - if size 34 in 634-XHS fits well, what size should one go for in the 416S ? Thanks.

I would go by the thigh measurements.  I'm a 36 in 634s but opted to size up to a 38 in the 461 due to the thighs being rather fitted.

I'm a 30 in the 634-XHS and a 31 in the 461S.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.  If you cuff these up, can you see the selvage like the other IH selvage jeans? Giles wrote something about this in the earlier pages of this forum but I didn't quite understand it.

Some of my internet research tells me that the selvage on these jeans is not seeing although they are labelled as selvage (I do see the selvage on the fly as shown in the pictures on IH's website). Please refer to:

It does not show at the hem but has an over lock stitch like you'd see on non selvedge denim. However the actual denim is selvage but because of how the original pattern was designed the selvedge line has been cut.

There is no selvage at the cuff.

Does the IH-461S come with a free brass hook that comes with the IH-461 (the non-selvedge version)? Thanks.

Nope.  Only the non "s" versions come with the hook

Thanks Giles and everyone else who've responded. I actually saw the 461 on http://global.rakuten.com/en/ a few days ago with black leather back pockets. They looked really cool. Does anyone own those? I don't see them on Rakuten anymore. Are those going to be remade anytime and sold on IH's website?

I don't know if they will be remade, I'll ask Haraki this week,  I suspect not, but even if they are, I will not stock them as a standard item…They will have to be special order.

Giles - Thanks for asking . Even natural colored (undyed leather) leather back pockets would look lovely with the 21Oz indigo denim. Great contrast.

Seems like you're not really sure which cut you should try first. I think you can't go wrong with a pair of 634S…

Should I pre soak these and if I do will they shrink? I was going to have them made to 34 but don't want to if they will shrink with a pre soak.

They're sanforized, so no shrinking,well some as all denim shrinks. You can soak if you want to get excess starch off.
Get 'em hemmed 0,5" longer than you want. That'll take care of the shortening due combs…
