Agree Military Serge great fabric love my 235’s BLK is my most worn last year started fading nicely slight bronze fade in areas sure it will subside and fade to grey.

Hi mate no idea possibly the sun?  oddly though same bronze fade on the back of the neck sun doesn’t shine there .. No sweating in this shirt wore it before it started to get warm last year..

maybe its a result of the sulphur dyeing .
pretty unique , never seen before.
but definitely looks cool

295-BB and XHSbb are sulphur dyed as well and didn’t see any of that evo on those 2. But it’s amazing @Jcaz6996 maybr just a USP of the serge

My shirt isn't as far along the road as yours yet but is also showing this faint bronze sheen. I don't mind it too much though.

Cheers @Lowlander  don’t really have an explanation for bronze like fade I’m sure I’ll eventually break down to fade to grey. What do you think?

Yes I would guess so too. It will be interesting to see how this one develops. I haven't seen too many pics of this shirt heavily faded yet.

Could it be due to the use of sunscreen lotion?  Some sunscreen will turn orange or rust when it sits on dark fabric, hence the bronze colour.  But you already said your wore this shirt before it started to get warm last year…... curious to know how it fades this way as well.

The 23oz olive serge from the 705 and 714 cargoes fades a weird coppery-brown color, just like that. My 162 in the lighter weight didn’t do it, but maybe the current military serge is.

I am sunk deep into the couch and don’t feel like digging out my pants to take pics, but I think the fabric just does this, and it doesn’t seem to be chemical.

Maybe BLK serge won’t fade like that then . Why do you think mine has bronze fade in areas ? Sun ?

Certain black dyes do "fade" to brown in the sun.  Our superblack definitely does…..
