IH-634-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo/Black

Yeah the marbling is what I’m afraid of haha. Hot soak and sun time it is then, thanks for making up my mind fellas!
-
@GoodtimeJohnny a hot soak with agitation by hand will help the denim shrink as well.
-
@Oaktavia I think today is a good day to soak some stuff, I need about 1" to shrink or so but a lil less the first time won't hurt
-
@GoodtimeJohnny hot sunny days are ideal. Its frickin 88F and sunny outside here today which is perfect for quickly drying wet denim.
-
@Oaktavia same here, got hot quick
-
@GoodtimeJohnny I got 1.25" of leg length shrink on my initial warm wash (before wearing) Nor sure if you did an initial or just started wearing straight away...
-
@Mizmazzle I grabbed them off of the Bay so all I know is they were hemmed at ISP but he never responded to wether they were washed or soaked but I'm assuming not because they were still uber stiff
.
-
@GoodtimeJohnny I gave mine their first water recently, and they were back to being absolute bloody cardboard again afterwards. So maybe they were washed before selling. Who knows. Anyways; hope you get the shrink you're after!
-
Here we go!

-
I just warm machine washed my XHS (not ib) for the first time since I initially soaked/ washed when I first got them. Also light hand wash with minimal agitation in between first initial wash and recent machine wash. I lost a tiny bit more length, enough to be noticeable right away. So a little hope to maybe lose a little more length for you @GoodtimeJohnny
-
@wjw I need to shrink the waist mostly, the length is good and if I lose an inch there it’ll just be a bonus! They’re hanging now so we’ll see tomorrow.
-
Wash #2 @100 wears. Will wash them more frequently I think since spot cleaning doesn't work well with them unfortunately.

-
@FlavourFade I’m just going to follow you from thread to thread and post exactly what you post!
Wash #2
(Had some seam split issues so had to send them back to Gos for repair )

-
@Mizmazzle funny how different our pairs look but it's maybe the lighting too, mine will go to gos for some repairs probably after the next wash, want to push them a little more before summer

-
@FlavourFade yeah the lighting is making mine look a bit purplish.
What repairs are you needing? -
Joined the 634 xhsib club last week w this lightly used pair. I’m more of an 888 guy, however, 634 is growing in me.

-
@Denimhead-0 hey whats the difference between them in your opinion? I have been surprised by the 634 pics, they look slimming and nice. Would you say maybe its just rise of the 888 is obviously higher?
-
@cyclops higher rise, top block is a little roomier on 888 and more tapered. I prefer the 888 with my Vans and Converse. 634 and 666 pairs better w boots imho.
-
@Denimhead-0 I love the 888 cut too. But I do find the 634 very comfortable and also that straight leg has its place with certain wider boots and more wide leg styles. I love engineers with the 888 and the 634. I have some wesco jobmasters that I almost exclusively wear with my 634s, 822s and a pair of Freenote deck pants that are fairly wide legged.
