After some thinking (and some forum useful suggestions) i have decided to buy a pair of leather sneakers, i didn't use them for years and the big monstrous super-hyped ones never attracted me… i would prefer a pair, simple and elegant with no logos, that can be used on every occasion and abuse them.

My eyes stared at this dark navy coloured one, Common Projects:

What do you think of this model and brand? Are they ok for a short man (i am 172 cm tall) and not fat but neither thin?

And more important, would they be good with a good pair of IH jeans on?

hey there, I love Common Projects. In all honesty, that navy is probably my favorite leather they do in the Achilles Low. As for sizing and such, I had to size up as they're a tad narrow. With that being said, i've completely beaten mine and they're still holding up. Many unplanned hikes, games of basketball, or the occasional skateboarding session in them and they're still kicking. ALSO, they're going to look absolutely killer with some IH jeans - especially something with a bit more of a tapered cut.

oh man, you just sold me a pair with this post! thank you so much for your recommendation 🙂

this model 1528-xx-1977 is basically unavailable everywhere in my size but i have found it here:

          http://www.meme-desirsdavenir.com/common-projects-original-mens-achilles-low-deep-navy-sneakers-p-755.html

but i am concerned about the price… so low, do you think i should trust? no discussions in web for this site

and about size, so they actually fit smaller? cause i have read the opposite thing, that CP sneakers fits larger and i would need to choose 1 size down compared to other branded sneakers such as nike and adidas

Yeah man, I'm not familiar with that website at all so I can't speak on it… but if it's not too good to be true you've found a nice little gold mine, ha.

As for sizing, I've just got a fairly wide foot and wanted to size up as opposed to hoping they'd give near the ball of my foot. To give you an idea, however, I wear 42 in Buttero, 9.5/10 in anything US sizing, and got the CPs in size 43.

yeah exactly, too good to be true and the site seems pretty much amateur made… i won't put my cc details into that  😶

Basically the "Deep Navy" model (1528-xx-1977) is older and not available anymore. New model is called "Dark Navy", 1528-xx-3013:

              https://www.common-projectsshoes.com/original-achilles-low/13-common-projects-navy-original-achilles-sneakers-men.html

From pics it seems a bit lighter compared to the Deep Blue one. Which one do you have pal? Do you still think this new model would be effective as the old?

And thanks for the detailed sizing tips!

Can someone tell me which between the two navy models 1528-1977 and 1528-3013 is darker tone and more similar to black?

I've got a pair of the classic black low-tops and can definitely vouch for their quality. They manage to hold their crispiness pretty well, too—mine still look pretty new.

I love the Common Project Court highs but the only thing that bugs me about them is the weird "serial number" they have stamped in gold across the side of the heel.

Ha that's their whole thing! I mean, sorta the brand calling card, I suppose. It actually all means something, I forget exactly… I think it's like style number / color number / shoe size in one order or another.

Well I think it looks bad.  It's like emblazoning a huge VIN on the exterior of a car or something…ok maybe not exactly like that but it looks ugly.

I like the number! Hey, opinions opinions 😃

A couple years ago you'd be really in luck, as there were a lot of companies that made CP style shoes, just without the number. Saturdays made some… a couple others whose names I forget and can't find much via Google, but I did find these:

                          https://www.nationalstandard.fr/en/men

                          Might be an option?

I'm not a fan of the numbers either but CP are some of the most comfortable sneakers I own. The last just hits my foot shape.
