      My poor boys…

But they are safe and well, and have power and internet access, so we count our blessings - many people are having a truly desperate time.

Latest news is that they are booked on flight from Nagoya via Helsinki on Thursday, which will get them back home on Thursday evening - my fingers, toes etc. are crossed.

And it could have been far worse, I was considering making the trip with them...  😉

Thanks for the update. While it must be stressful for them I’m sure they’re making the best of it.

Gee and I thought I've had travel delays. Best of luck to you both. The earlier shots looked great, so hopefully it was all worth it, Which I'm sure it was. Safe travels…

Plan now is that we catch a Shinkansen to Nagoya, and fly out tomorrow.  We're going to make the best of it, Haraki will pop down from Tokyo and we will have a meal with him and Ken to discuss business - saves me/us going to LA again in near future…...

mm i'm not too sure about that. All travel insurance cover natural disasters or "act of god" and the payout depends on the level of cover. i've just gone into my product disclosure statement (PDS) under RAC travel insurance  and it says under emergency enpenses that it covers "Cover for emergency Additional Accommodation, Meal and Travelling Expenses if Your Trip is disrupted due to a natural disaster, serious weather event or even lost passports."

You might wanna go over the fine print and see where you can claim from..

i was able to claim mine back in 2009 for damages to personal belongings etc. we did not have any delay at that time so that didn't need any claiming.
