@Brock i have this "problem" where i just need to wear what i have, i just dont want to deal with swapping on and off. i think about it from time to time, but i just relatively slowly added to my collection so ive gotten used to it, but im also at a point where i am done. anything else that would maybe be added would be on a substitution type basis.

@pechelman Not good at all (I have 2 of those clips). Did it just break/sheer off? Let us know how it goes getting it fixed.
-
@pechelman sorry man, OUCH!

I clipped it on my belt loop, started walking as normal, grabbed my keys to tuck into my rear pocket as normal, and felt something weird. I stopped immediately when I realized my keys weren't attached to my belt loop anymore. Thankfully I found that hex thing only a few steps behind me on the sidewalk.
I'm very gentle with this overall only using it to hold keys. Most of the time it's only holding the weight of the clip.
Already sent Sunme a note but I'm not expecting a reply today. Hopefully it won't take too long to turn around. Had to send something else back for warranty that kinda took forever.

Common problem with Good Art clip 8.
I had same kind of clip which is non good art.
I learn it do with movement banging it, putting keys down has an effect on it snap just like that’s. I did mentioned it while back.
This reason I kept buddy loop.
Just have to live with it. Can happen any time -

@pechelman damn.... was not expecting that at all.
now you have just unlocked a new fear for my AA size clip 8 (i use brass BLB for keys anyway but I am wearing the clip 8 as a pendant )
makes no sense that hex piece isn't soldered onto the clip body???!! is that just a way of skipping a step on manufactoring/cheapening out? Or maybe is your piece just an unlucky "faulty" piece?
-
@Kasi IMHO I don't think that is an acceptable "common problem" becasue a lot of the good art stuff uses this hex like design on the swivel part. Not just the clip 8 but the wallet chain, big eye clip etc. So if this is a design flaw, that means the same problem could happen to other pieces as well. So I do hope that it is just an one off issue with @pechelman, and that Goodart have since updated/fixed this problem from when you had the same issue back then.

Good Art has treated me right in the past when I’ve had issues. They are great at customer service when you ask…As @pechelman stated, he contacted them and I’m sure that some resolution can be reached.
Things break, it’s normal. Rant over…

I think the issue in this case is a materials one. The fracture surface looks pretty brittle and this is likely from a casting process which can have porosity that will be great places for a crack to start.
My opinion is that this might be a reasonable place to use a piece of stainless steel or something a little more durable.
Regardless, I'm not worried of this getting fixed. I am a little disappointed but I know they'll make it right. Mostly this was a PSA for anyone with clips like this.

@kaacy1721 I was thinking of adding one to use as a pendant as well …

Would anyone happen to have the AA curb chain and a V2 Clip they’d care to share?
Edit with the medium swing arm …
