I'd agree with @neph93, and go with your usual size.
I had an XXL in the denim M65 (@trail and arrow has it now), and it got a bit tight in the shoulders.
IfWhen I get another, I'd go XXXL.@Graeme thanks for the advice. I take it your usually size is xxxl? I went with my usual size of xxl

best is that the velcro is replaced with buttons, maybe a personal thing but i think it's a perfect improvement! the OD treatment looks very lovely too!

Bang done. Went with XXX. I'm in the UK, the worst that can happen is a straight swap for an XL. thanks for the advice folks.really looking forward to getting this one.
you're so lucky to have an opportunity for a size swap. For me living in Australia, i need to do a bit of guesswork based on the measurement taken from one of my IH flannel shirts and size up ::)
I normally wear one size down from Sam's size but the shoulders measurement for Small is only 16.3" which I think is too tight if I need to wear flannel or a hoodie as midlayer. So i think Medium will suffice

Could someone with L or XL sizes share some pictures of them in the wild? I'm especially curious to see how the arms fall when the hands are in the hand-warming pockets. I like how the arms are more relaxed in Adam's picture than somewhat more folded in Sam's. I'm wondering whether that is because Adam wears an S while Sam wears an M? Or is is just arm length?

Fair dos. The sizing for my xxl fell slap bang in the middle of my xxl IH experience…the measurements were as per listing.
Have you bought one too?

Haven't bought one yet but want to. Also, after referring to IH's fit chart I typically wear Sam's size for shirts and jackets. I'm closer to him in size. Also, Adam and Giles sized down from their usual size on the M65.

Well I'm with @Stuart.T on this one. I still can't wrap my head around how/why people size down on their jackets but different body types like you said I guess. I find that sizing up or going normal size works perfect for me on IH jackets. No way in hell I could size down.

The sizing down thing confuses me too but i'm basing this on the fact that Sam, Adam and Giles all sized down from their usual size. But, could be that this is with just a tee underneath. The M65 isn't a full blown winter coat for me so I'd at least need to be able to wear a flannel underneath if it gets in the 40's or 50's. Guess i'll wait til more people get these and report in on fit

I would not be able to size down as the shoulders are pretty Slim on this. I already find the IHM08 tight (size XL) and the IHM20 is about an Inch smaller.

@gaseousclay that's what I really love about this jacket. It fits close enough to wear with a tee or flannel without looking oversized, but I can wear a sweat/hoodie or type III without it looking too tight or getting that tight pulling on the upper arms/shoulders. But as you say, that's for me, others may well vary.
Bottom line, f'ing great jacket IH!
