Ship John
-
Japan only black denim townes. I do like how the brass snaps pop on black denim.

-
@Bobcat-Sig yeah, i'm not trying to be a downer on Mike or ship John as I absolutely love the items I have managed to pick up and I totally understand things are limited. But I just prefer when they announce the date/time something is dropping (just like IH do) so it at least gives everyone a chance to try and snag something......the random drops make it nearly impossible (especially in a different time zone) but as I say, it is what it is and its not a major issue in the big scheme of things - I will continue to try and support them as the ship John items are some of my favourite pieces I own

Anyone who got the dry wax Townes already thinking about possibly trying to shrink it? Mainly due to shoulders I was between sizes and opted for the usual size I get in all my other Townes shirts, but generally I hot soak/wash and usually machine dry to get the most shrinkage out I can, but due to this one being dry waxed I’m a little worried about how it will turn out. The care instructions say it can be washed and gives expectations on what happens if dried. Just trying to have a game plan for when it arrives
-
I machine wash and dry my Gutheries so I assume I will be able to do the same with this shirt.
-
@northsouthdenimguy awesome. I’ve just never machine washed or dried anything waxed so wanted to see what others game plan was
-
@Darth-fader Yes, very much agreed. I’m no fan of big social media, and made the choice to unplug from all of that, so I miss out on drops and such.
I suspect Mike drops product like that because it’s easier to announce on IG, and queue up his e-commerce system to drop at the same time, saving him the need to pull together an email, send it, etc.
Where I get hung up isn’t missing drops altogether, after all my only interaction with the brand is via email or in-shpp, it’s when your order is cancelled on check-out. I keep mentioning this but it burned me too much to forgive and forget, despite it seemingly such a small thing. I’ve often thought of selling all of my pieces out of spite. No other brand, of any kind, has me feeling that strongly.
-
@hgering27 I’m in the same boat as you! I want the chest to be a little smaller and was thinking of doing the same wash hot and dry. Kinda afraid that will ruin the wax but worse come to worse I’ll use it as a top layer piece. Either way I’m excited for this townes
-
At least with the Guthries dry wax, I haven’t really noticed any meaningful loss of the finish or any damage to the fabric from washing and machine drying it.
-
@northsouthdenimguy that’s good enough for me. I’ll be hot washing and drying this guy when it gets in
-
Now I’m scared.. let’s talk about it before you do it lol
-
@northsouthdenimguy hahaha that works for me. I’m not really too worried. The care instructions don’t say anything about specifically not washing or drying unless you don’t want it to shrink, which I do. But I’ll circle back here once it comes in
-
@northsouthdenimguy I really wanted this one but skipped it because I’m always between sizes so I just shrink the larger size and it’s usually perfect. With the wax I didn’t know what would happen even though the care details say you can do it, it made me nervous haha. Looking forward to seeing both of your results!
-
@northsouthdenimguy hearing this I’m most likely going to wash/ dry it if the fit is not right. Did u get a good amount of shrinkage with the Guthrie?im still waiting on my pair to get hemmed
-
Nothing crazy, but they tightened up a bit. I didn’t measure them pre-or post wash/dry.
-
@Northman That's on my want list , hopefully I manage to get one.
