Ship John

@TheChef17 It makes me want it more. I’m not a fan of anything that could make hand warmer pockets less comfy or snag shirt cuffs, and I wouldn’t personally use those for storage.
-
@TheChef17 Aesthetically I like the snaps on the older version better. Still a cool jacket though.
-
@Go-For-Chill @Chibs I kinda in both camps. Stylistically, I like the option and look of the snaps, but functionally I agree I've had gloves and cuffs snag on things like this. Either way it's still a badass jacket!
-
I lean no snap for that pocket. I would never use them.
-
@TheChef17 the pictures that Mike been spreading is the older layout of the Ramblin version.
They did remove the buttons already in the updated Japanese Selvedge version that got released back in 2023.So I’m guessing why the oldest version has gotten the most spotlight on all latest teases, is just because it’s the return of the actual fabric. They went back to that original broken twill fabric.
So this variant is the return of the original fabric but with the minor updated layout that got changed in 2023

@mecken88 Will have to see how this pans out. I do like the look of it now with the clean looking pockets. Ship John would bring brand variety to my wardrobe, but the IH FW announcement is probably just around the corner as well.

@Northman i think Mike said ones he was never interested in making another replica of the regular type 3 just with a SJ logo on it.
He wanted to make, in his opinion the best trucker jacket he could make. So it’s like a moders twist on a type 3 in his point of view. And from owning the waxed canvas version of the same jacket. I can really see why he chose the outlook he did. Okey it’s not a classic that goes by the “rules”.
But it’s truly a versatile and amazing jacket. Having those options to put stuff in the chore pockets, but still having the option to rest your hands in the handwarmer pockets it’s a cool variation

Tomorrow! Link doesn't work so I can’t look at measurements. -
@Chibs Click on the details tab and it has the measurements

Thx! Sleeves are long!

Anyone have a clue on how to size this ramblin? L in ship john is usually too small for me. XL only works after a hot wash and some shrinkage. 18.5 shoulder would definitely not work on a shirt for me but 24.75 chest seems huge. I am an XL in a wills for what that is worth. Hmm...

Got the SJ email and immediately came here for more info. Probably gonna go for this one. It's too cool to pass. Other than the denim and sashiko hats that I purchased from them, I'm a noob when it comes to their other items. Is the denim raw and will it shrink if I give it a hot soak? Just wondering if I can dial in the fit if needed.

Maybe it’s not open to Canadian orders. The link still doesn’t work for me.

-
@Chibs Maybe your wife tampered with your phone so you can't buy it.
She's great in your videos btw. I love that she doesn't pull any punches when giving her opinion. -
@Nobunaga haha thx. Wait until you see what she says next vid. Brutal!

@Chibs weird, it should not be picky on where your from. I’m in Sweden I can see the jacket.
If you go to Ship John’s website, go to clothing it should be the item in the top.
Sweden is 9 hours ahead Portland. So if I’m gonna try, it’s a late night for me

Just became unsure about sizing too, I’m a solid Large in Ship John.
Own the flannel plaid shirt, denim Townes shirt, waxed Ramblin jacket and the Kristofferson preorder for this winter. All is Large. But no one have a wide chest of 23,25”.
And it said in the next “extremely minimal shrinkage” so don’t know if Medium will do me better..
I did send them an email and ask, but haven’t gotten a response yet
